Avoid this company, period. Yes, the customer support staff is very friendly but you'll spend hours trying to resolve problem after problem with them - when you shouldn't have to deal with them in the first place. I purchased one domain with no problem and figured I could trust this company. I then purchased three domains, submitted the necessary paperwork and waited... I was then told two days later that the domains were never actually available and that the registrations were cancelled. Although refunds "appear" to have been issued, it will be at least 3-5 days before funds actually show up in my account(s), so who knows; regardless, I have no access to those funds until then. I should have known better but I still proceeded to buy yet another domain from 101domain... and less than 12 hours later I received another notification that this time the registration was cancelled because sorry, they got the price wrong and I would have to contact them to find out the real price... are you kidding? So let's be clear, in the first 3 cases they "sold" domains that weren't actually available and in the 4th case they "sold" a domain but for the wrong price and took it back... and yep, you guessed it, those funds are said to be "refunded" but who knows because now that money won't reappear in my account for at least 3-5 days... So if you want to do business with a registrar that doesn't actually know what is available or at what price but will definitely take your money and may or may not give it back to you, then sure, go ahead and give your hard-earned cash to this terrible excuse for a registrar. But don't say you weren't warned - AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

Worst registrar on the entire planet!! Go with anyone else. They won't return your money, even when they sell domains that can't be registered (you instead might get store credit...if lucky). This place is open about 10 hours a week and no one will answer a phone. Its totally "amateur hour".

Hi Snap Count, Please send us a domain in your account so we can investigate the issue and find a better solution! You can reply here or email us at [email protected]. It is rare that we do not offer refunds on domains that cannot be registered, as long as it is within a reasonable timeframe. We would like to see what we can do to turn your experience into a positive one. For future reference, we are available on the phone Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm PST (San Diego). We offer live chat on our site Sunday - Friday 8am - 5pm PST (San Diego). You can also open a support ticket in your account. We are working towards offering 24/7 support, something we hope to be able to do soon. In the meantime, we want to thank you for your patience in this matter! Best regards, 101domain

I have owned domains with 101domain for a few years. I was never been impressed by their service, or prices, and I have slowly let domains expire that I no longer need. A few days ago they renewed one of my domains for $199/yr - TWO months prior to the domain actually expiring. I wrote them on the day they renewed the domain and asked for them to cancel the renewal, and refund the money to my credit card. It took them 4 days to respond, and they REFUSE to refund the renewal fees, even-though the domain does NOT even expire to mid-August, and it is mid-June now. I have bought domains for 25 years from all the legitimate registrars, and have NEVER seen anything like this before. My best guess is they are going out of business, and scamming clients where they can to keep the lights on. Don't get scammed like I did.

Hi Softrade Reza, we understand your frustration in this matter, but it sounds as though you have been with us long enough to know how auto-renew works. You let some of your domains expire, but you had auto-renew enabled on this domain which indicates that you wanted it to be renewed. If not, auto-renew would have been disabled as it was with your other domains. We do not scam our customers. Auto-renew exists to protect our customers from accidentally letting their domain names expire. If this were to happen you could lose your domain name indefinitely, or have to pay a restoration fee to recover it. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for domain names that are set to auto-renew. Best regards, 101domain

Can't have any other domain name registration provider worse than this 101domain company. I searched my domain name on their site and it was shown as available to register. They charged me full price for the first year of the domain name and asked me to upload all kinds of personal documents to verify my information. After more than 10 hours I still can't find the domain name is working, or activated, so I chatted twice using their online-chat with their customer officer, and also raised a ticket. They finally said it was their error that they didn't know the domain I have chosen and PAID FOR ALREADY has been taken and cannot be registered. A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!

Misleading and fraudulent. They lead you to believe the domain is available and then will deny it weeks later. Meanwhile they collect the payment immediately (and you pay it because they tell you the domain is available). Absolute scam. I have no idea how they haven’t been shut down.

Their customer support is non existent. I used thier chat festure and wrote a message. They emailed me back a template email saying that I need to open a support ticket, rather than answer my question or forward it internally. This is useless
Response from 101domainJan 2, 2019
Hi Will, we have a reason for doing this. Our chat feature is open to anyone, so depending on the type of support request we often direct users to create a support ticket in their account. Internal support tickets are secure because a client must log in to submit one. Opening a support ticket in your account is the fastest way to receive support for account and domain setting inquiries. We do agree with you that there is room for improvement in how we communicate this in our current system and appreciate the feedback. We hope your question has since been answered by our team, if not please feel free to reach out. Hopefully, you give us another chance to please you with our superior service!
