My initial review was quite favorable
My initial review was quite favorable; however, I deleted it due to the negative subsequent interactions I had with the company. Essentially, my scanner was not programmed properly and, when Zip scanners was informed, I was first referred by the head of operations to the Whistler group and told to consult with them. When I complained about zip scanners not taking responsibility for their error, I was told that they were busy and did not have the time to deal with me now. Further discussions resulted in the head of operations promising to fix the problem and send me a newly programmed card to try it out. What I received was a blank card with brief instructions on how to program it myself. I then complained to the owner who said he knows nothing about scanners and programming. (Only in America can someone own and run a company who knows nothing about the product or services he markets. What a great system!!) Anyway, he said the head of operations was out of town and could not be reached. (Apparently, he went some place where text messages, e-mail, and cell phones don't exist.) When the owner refused to even try to contact the head of operations, it was apparent that he did not even want to get involved in dealing with the situation. Next, I complained about his attitude and then he said the head of operations was out of the country. (So, it seems that other countries also don't have text message, e-mail, or cell phone capabilities.) It appears most unusual to me that when a company is very busy, they would allow their main person to go away for a week. And, admittedly, the owner said that no one else there was capable of handling any more involved situations. Finally, after being put off for the third time and told to wait another week, I filed a dispute with PayPal. After exchanging a number of inane e-mails with the owner, I was told that I would receive my programming and start-up fees back that I had requested. In addition, I was initially told that they would also fix the programming issue as well due to the trouble I incurred. Then, that offer was withdrawn, and I was told by the owner that he had misspoken. I would just receive the fees back that I had asked for in the first place. It would seem that any extra service from them to make up for my aggravation, frustration, and inconvenience was something they could care less about relative to customer satisfaction! In my opinion, I don't believe they felt they were capable of programming my scanner properly and were trying to avoid future embarrassment! So, if you buy a scanner from them, good luck getting it programmed properly and lots of luck with the so-called "lifetime support". Once they have your money, don't expect any more from them. The head of operation's promises are worthless and the owner doesn't want to get involved or know about anything related to his business. Thanks to PayPal, I at least received my programming and start-up fees back!!

When our staff goes on vacation we respect their family time and would not interrupt that as you demanded we do several times. It's a radio; we do the best we can and have 1,000's of happy customers (see reviews here) but like all services, not everything goes perfect. We attempted to problem solve the programming issue with you over the phone but you refused to do anything and were very aggressive and rude to our staff. We refunded your money and for some reason you still disputed your credit card charge while we were trying to work with you. I hope potential customers see the 100's to positive reviews here as more indicative of Zip Scanners than this.
