AVOID AT ALL COSTS Zipcar scam sent me an email requesting me to re confirm your payment card details for some spurious security reason. Once I had done this I noticed that Zipcar system had automatically switched my account from basic to £6pm. This is dishonest and unlawful. Zipcar customer services is probably the worst I have ever come across. An staggeringly amateur company.

The prices I was shown for cars in my area before applying, ended up being nearly $40 more after I entered my payment information and they got my NON refundable application fee. I was shown cars available for $83 a day. After paying, I was shown the real price of $106 a day. I immediately called to dispute these tactics and ask for a refund, which of course they refused. So they got my $25 application fee, plus $7 and taxes (which they also don’t mention when signing up) and refuse to refund any of it even though I canceled my account literally within minutes of signing up. Their reps are clearly in Mexico and will argue with you and tell complete lies when you try to question their dishonest business practices. The rep kept trying to tell me that the cars were that price because of the holiday season. But no matter what date I plugged in, the prices did not change. Then he tried to tell me that it depended on the make of the car. Wrong again. Every single car from compact to mini van was the exact same price of $106/day. $106 is very different than $83, don’t you think? If I had known that it was really $106 and not $83 I would never have signed up, but I guess that’s the point. They get their fees and you get nothing. HORRIBLE business practices from a SCAM company.

Absolutely horrible. Took a pit stop about ten minutes into the two hour trip and the car wouldn’t open after we tried to get back in. Customer service left us on hold for ages, couldn’t help, told us to stay with the car for 45 minutes to wait for a mechanic, and said that if we left they’d charge us an abandonment fee. I’m livid, this is a horrible business. Never using again.

Worst Car Rental Service of ALL TIME I used Zipcar in college and back then (2017-2019), I thought the service was terrible but I needed it because I was in an area where I needed a car to get around. Now in 2021, I came back to their service in order to transport my dog easier as I do not have a car (who needs one in NYC?). Little did I know Zipcar still has terrible service, buggy software, and total SCAM of a refund policy. You have to cancel 30 minutes within the time of booking to get a refund? SCAM. Such a money grab move. I hope the CEO of Zipcar and I never meet face to face because I will tell him to his face that Zipcar is a good idea in theory... AND THAT HE HAS MANAGED TO F*** IT ALL UP BY CREATING THE WORST TECH COMPANY OF ALL TIME.

They will charge you $34 just to look at your application and determine whether you meet their requirement or not, outrageous! SCAM ! stay away from this company.

Worst customer service I have ever faced. Took 3 months to get an account issue handled, which delayed my ability to work for my employer who has the corporate zip car account for 3 months. I’ve easily spent 80 hours emailing, calling, following up over the last 6 months. Now I learned I can’t have An account for my own business because I am listed as a user on another business that I’m only an employee of. No one there seems to be able to handle any minor issue at all. Emails go unresponded to. I’ve never had any thing this bad and I deal with governmental bureaucracy everyday. This last issue: I just wanted to open an account for my business - and I can’t. So I will use a competitor service instead and I will be urging my employer to end their enormous contract with Zipcar due to the constant inconveniences they create.

The car parked on Daysbrook Rd, Streatham Hill is parked right on a T junction, go left and it's a dead end, go right (to get to the nearest A road) and you get fined for going through a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) zone... I had never even heard of these cameras so I got fined £65 on the way out and £65 on the way back... and of course Zipcar pockets an extra £30 as a fine processing fee. Such a con it's ridiculous!!!!

Do not get into them. They are not what they used to be. Their customer service is terrible and ineffective. They just apologize and don't act. I had to give up after 2months of haggling to get my refund for their cancellations and lack of service. They just cancel your trips at will. Sham business with cheaters as employees. Avoid them and be safe.
