Gets An A+ for Education but a C for Documenting their Work
Z-Health course are some of the most practical and effective courses in applied neuroscience. They form a well-thought out and rounded curriculum that addresses human movement and performance from a multitude of perspectives - rehabilitation, pain, vestibular and vision training, interoception, strength, speed, etc. Professionally, their work and their commitment to the development of their students is first-class - lifetime access to updated materials, education advisors who can help fill gaps and provide guidance in applying the material, etc. On a personal level, their work has reduced my own chronic pain and movement issues more rapidly than any other treatment or work that I've tried over 25 years. The two places where their work is let down are: 1) Sometimes their courses are so full of material that topics aren't fully covered. Eg., T-Phase covers taping, cupping, cranial mobilization, lymph drainage and hands-on work (amongst other things), although only the latter is substantially covered. The others seem to serve only as a brief introduction followed up with "you should go do a course on it if you're interested." I'd rather they separated out the topics into separate (additional or add-on) courses or didn't bother discussing them at all, giving more time to fewer topics would sometimes be beneficial. Less is more. 2) The quality of their written material that accompanies the courses isn't as high-quality as their methodology. Powerpoint presentations aren't followed, often leaving multiple slides not-discussed, or slides discussed in depth but the information not included in the course manuals. Essential information is therefore often spread between the course manuals and the slides. I would like to see all the essential information to be in the course manuals as I'm often left searching for information and not knowing which document I should be looking in. This gets harder and harder as you progress through the curriculum with many manuals and presentations to search through. Other little things also frustrate me (eg. acronyms used without first being explained) but they're easily answered by the Ed Advisors (but it does take up both of our time). Ultimately, Z-Health is essential education for anyone interested in the human body in any way and I strongly recommend them. Let's hope that their materials get better and better too, especially given we get any updated info for life!
