Staff were very professional, friendly, and extremely easy to deal with. Kilimanjaro guides, cook & porters were excellent and very experienced. Resort is nice, very clean and resort food is very good. Though the hike food badly needs variety.

I have been on adventure tours around the world. Zara tours is one of the best. Great accommodations, meals and amazing staff. The trek was professionally run with expert guides and a caring and cheerful group of porters. Also, the administrative staff, especially Pearl, who helped us set up the trip were amazing. And the owner of Zara was very hospitable and ensured we were taken care of. Would trek with them again.

Simply amazing!

A life changing experience! We climbed Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route in June. One of the best things I have done so far. Our group of 11 people could not have been in better hands with our guide and his assistant guides and all the porters, cooks etc. They were always to hand for advise, assistant, help and also encouragement. An extremely professional and hardworking and just wonderful team. Even leading up to the trip all communication with Zara Tours was dealt with swiftly. On the hike, the food was always excellent and plenty. Every evening we were briefed on the next day so we always knew what to expect in terms of route, altitude, weather, clothing, snacks etc. Our guides got us all 11 up to the summit. Fantastic achievement. Fantastic experience. Preparation is key! I need to add that it is important to research such a trip thoroughly, particularly if you have never done anything like this before. Firstly, to make sure to have the right equipment for all weather conditions and secondly, having some knowledge of the country, its people, history, nature and Kilimanjaro makes the trip more interesting and enjoyable. Ahead of the trip let Zara know of your dietary requirements and bring your own 'good' snacks as well. I can't recommend Zara Tours enough. Our guides and assistant guides were wonderful! Very knowledgeable. Our porters were working diligently behind the scenes to make sure we would get proper rest between hikes, warm water, and hot food. I would highly recommend this tour. Be sure to be specific about diet. My only criticism is regarding food. It is challenging getting anything up the mountain but food selection could have been better and less fried, more boiled, and more nutritious than mostly potatoes and flour soup. Having said that, there was always a hot meal available. I think hard boiled eggs, pasta, bean soups and dishes go a long way. Please make sure to tip ur team appropriately. They work hard for you. They do this a lot and it’s not easy one time let alone many times. Total tip should be at least $400 pp depending on size of the group - ours was 4 hikers. Cheers and be safe all.
