I have been dealing with a freelancer through Upwork on a project of developing a WordPress website. The contract was very clear and yet he decided to move away from the contract conditions and do his own thing. What a terrible experience to deal with this company. Don't be fooled by their fancy website etc. its smoke and mirrors. I have recently had a security company check the entire site and they sent me the following: Dear Sir, The issue of unwanted/harmful text appearing on your website's homepage has been successfully identified and resolved. Root Cause: A malicious file named api.php was found inside the custom-elementor-widgets plugin (a custom plugin installed by the developer under the name zactra). This file acted as a backdoor, allowing unauthorized access to your website. The previous developer intentionally used this backdoor to modify your website's content. What We Have Done: The entire custom-elementor-widgets plugin has been deactivated and removed. The api.php file is attached as evidence. A full security scan of your website has been completed – no other malware found. Action Required from You: Please do not use this plugin ever again. For any future custom plugin installation, have it reviewed by me first. Your website is now fully secure. Wow!!! There are some unscrupulous people out there. Be very careful

The contract scope, milestones, and deliverables were clearly defined and agreed upon before starting. All work was completed in line with those agreed milestones, and each stage was reviewed and approved accordingly. In fact, earlier milestones were released by the client after completion, including during a dispute, which confirms the work delivered met expectations. Throughout the project, we remained responsive and also accommodated multiple additional requests beyond the original scope in good faith. The final milestone was related to setup, reporting, and handover (GSC, Google Analytics, indexing, and performance reports), all of which were completed and documented with proof. Access was also removed from our side as requested. We believe this review does not accurately represent the work delivered or the overall engagement. We encourage future clients to review our full work history and feedback for a balanced perspective.
