i’ve never done this before, but I made an account on trust pilot because of how terrible this software is and how poorly they teach the individuals about what you’re supposed to know. Do not purchase or go anywhere near this garbage program that they try to teach you.

I created an account and paid an electric bill while I didn’t know my rent was included energy bill, which means my landlord was also making payment towards the same address. When I found out in March this year, I canceled the account and requested funds to be returned, which never happened later. I filed Better Business Bureau complaint in April and I was told I will receive a check in the mail here we are in October nothing happened so they’re just thieves.

My name is Dawn Hartung, I live in Wisconsin. I am battling a scam/fraud case for medical insurance and Excel called me today at 12:43pm telling me that I will be disconnected today, this is my notice of pending disconnection. I have a medical device that has to be charged from electricity and a Medtronic card to prove it. This part is on me, I thought I paid them, but apparently didn’t. I told the person today that I can pay them in full on September 23rd 2026, said they won’t help me. she laughed at me and said you are getting turned off. I’m going to pay them in full on the 23rd and they won’t work with you!!! This is my first notice.

'xcel' energy continues to absolutely gouge the consumer by financially stepping on the backs of the thousands that are just scrapping by. Raising the prices is outrageous. Necessities continue to become more unattainable. An absolute rubbish model for the company through the eyes of a consumer. A great model for the profiteers. Just one more company that makes me extremely intolerant and jaded about the ethics (or lack thereof) of companies.

Horrible company ... wish I could switch to a different energy company... they have electrical outrages every other month where I live at for hours on end...its ridiculous. With no warning but a recorded phone message a day ahead. Don't they get that the power being off for more then a few hours is not safe ... they say they are doing "pole maintenance" ...seriously. for hours and hours every other month. Unacceptable.... you call to find out when power will be restored. They don't even know....ridiculous. but they sure want thier payment right on time before they disconnect your service. I'm sick of this company and these outages. Total BS

I've been an electrician for over 10 years, I've worked in tandem with Xcel that entire time and from a professional standpoint and a personal standpoint, they are by far the worst utility company in existence. Their customer support, customer satisfaction, and the professionalism to follow through on scheduled dates are non-existent. When you schedule anything with Xcel, it's a coin flip whether they'll show up or cancel an hour before. This company is a perfect example of why monopolies in today's world should not exist, they can openly screw over their customer base with no consequences. If you're stuck with Xcel, unfortunately you have a monopolistic, unreliable, and unprofessional utility company, and you can do nothing about it.

Xcel is great when they work, but then they charge you an exorbitant rate for a service they do not reliably or consistently provide. If there is an outage and I regularly see service trucks in my town from your company, said outage happens at let's say 7:44 PM, you have 2-3 hours to fix it, why would it take until 8:30 AM the next day, when most people (myself included) are getting ready to go to work? Moreover, let's say you garage your car because you only have one... how am I supposed to deal with this? There is also no way to email customer service to get a discount or complain about what is frankly ridiculous given the rates they charge. I am demanding a discount for this outage and the ineptitude of this company in resolving it.
