I am so upset! I have owned this ever other year timeshare since the 90's. I have never been able to go where I want when I want. I did attend a "info meeting" in 2019 in Myrtle Beach.I was told the reason for this was since it was every other year when I called it only showed half the number of points I own so less availability was shown to the reservationist. Said if I would buy another 126,000 points there wouldn't be a problem. When I said I wasn't interested the next fella came out only to tell me if I couldn't afford to purchase I didn't have any business being on a vacation. Today I am sitting in Mirimar Beach at a Wyndham vacation, at Majestic Sun in a room with a single window overlooking the parking lot. When the reservation was made I specifically asked if this was ocean front and I was told it was. It is across the street from the ocean and our room does not face the ocean. I am not happy is an understatement! I was offered 30,000 points I told them to keep it. This week was 101,000 points. I would not recommend Wyndham to anyone even if money is no object. I have been lied to from the the get go and totally disrespected.

What a scam! Wyndham swindled me out of THOUSANDS of dollars! Their salespeople are so good at deceiving you and lying to make a buck. I have owned this timeshare since 2016 and have been disappointed the entire time. One major selling point was being able to travel anywhere, any time. That simply isn’t true. There is never any availability. What’s worse is that I have paid so much for this timeshare yet, if you go online through any travel website, there is availability and for FAR less money! I have never been able to take a vacation and with the amount I have spent, I could have traveled the country for a month!

Do yourself a favor and don’t buy a timeshare from Wyndham. We have had too many headaches dealing with them! The “short” presentation ended up being 5 hours long. All those hours wasted while we sat there being lied to. The sales staff are shady liars! These are some of the things we were told that are not true that were omitted all together: LIE: This is a great investment. We found out timeshares have no actual value. OMISSION: 14.99% interest rate. We never knew the true loan cost, just the monthly payment. LIE: We’d be able to sell the timeshare at any time. No one will buy it! Even eBay has listings for under $5.00 with no bites. OMISSION: There was a cancellation period that they obviously did not want us knowing about. LIE: There is availability everywhere! In reality, it is very difficult to make reservations and the website is not user friendly. OMISSION: Maintenance fees. We were not told that we’d owe these fees even after the mortgage is paid off, let alone that they increase annually at shocking rates. This purchase has been the worst financial pit that we have ever been in! There has been no payoff for the thousands that we have dumped in to Wyndham’s lap.

If you’re thinking about “buying” a timeshare from Wyndham please think twice. If you “own” something then you don’t need permission to use it. If you “own” something, it gains equity and it has value. This is NOT the case with a timeshare. They will tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign and then leave you dangling. Want proof? Here: During a worldwide pandemic when no one was travelling or using the timeshares this company actually RAISED monthly fees. Let me say that again: They raised fees during a time of unemployment, uncertainty, uncooperative travel conditions, and more. They ARE incapable of living up to anything that their salespeople tell you in their “presentations”.

Please, anyone reading this, do yourself a favor and stay away from WorldMark. Doing business with them was one of the worst decisions my husband and I have EVER made. Their salespeople lie to get you to buy a timeshare. They’ll tell you anything you want to hear. We were told that this purchase would be a financial investment in vacation real estate with the ability to write it off on our taxes…but there is no monetary value or tax benefit! Their salespeople also told us we could use the timeshare for a few years and get out whenever we wanted. They neglected to tell us there is no cancellation plan, no buyback plan, NOTHING. When they tell you that Maintenance fees will not go up, that’s a lie too. What’s worse is that they pressure you in to buying with fake promos and “one time only” deals. Every time an offer was declined, they offered a better deal, the only catch being that if we left the presentation, it would never be offered again. We have been so disappointed by this purchase that we wouldn’t recommend this to an enemy, let alone a friend!

Dealing with WorldMark is horrible, plain and simple! My husband and I have been owners for more than a decade and have not been able to take many vacations because of the total lack of availability. The sales staff lies and always tries to rope you in to buying more points. When we have talked about the difficult time we had with making reservations, the answer is to either book more than a year in advance or buy more points and boy, do they push to sell you MORE POINTS! Unfortunately, more points doesn’t solve the availability problem. It just means you pay even more to have the exact same issue! That’s not to mention the maintenance fees that go up EVERY year. With the amount we have spent on this timeshare, we could have traveled the world for a year!

A word of advice to anyone reading this, if you haven’t purchased from Wyndham, DON’T. Wyndham’s salespeople and owner service employees lie through their teeth! We were told our vacation ownership would increase in value and we could easily sell it if we wanted. Imagine our surprise when we found out timeshares hold no value, and you will never see any money back from it. Even after we purchased, we kept being invited to “update meetings”. The only thing that was updated was our account since they use this meeting as a trap to lure you in and pressure you to buy more and more. We were only ever told the amount of our monthly payment, not the total cost of all the debt we are now buried under! They purposely misled us with “the deal of a lifetime” that naturally was only good THAT day. We got excited when they said our children could inherit this and by then, the mortgage would be paid off. Too bad that was another lie! We would be condemning our children to a lifetime of maintenance fees that increase annually. If they had disclosed a fraction of what owning timeshare is really about, we would have NEVER PURCHASED! The salespeople are dishonest and deceptive. We have had it with this shady company!

Beware of WorldMark. This company preyed on the fact that I am a veteran by saying it qualified me for special offers. The sales staff keeps you in a presentation for HOURS but once they have you in their clutches and you say yes to making a purchase, they fly through everything and hide all the important details of the contract. There were so many lies and facts that had been withheld. Just know that if you buy a timeshare with WorldMark, you will be paying more than what was discussed. The interest rates are high, the maintenance fees were not brought up at all nor the fact that they go up EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Don’t think that this does not affect you if you’re already an owner. Even after you have spent tens of thousands of dollars, they invite you to “owner updates” that are really sales presentations and they will grind and grind you down and make you feel like what you own is worthless, so you keep spending money. You’ll hear all about why you need to buy more points for HOURS. Save yourself the day and don’t show up, it’s NOT mandatory as they claim! Learn from me and do NOT do business with WorldMark!!
