Wyndham Resorts sales practices is high pressure, do not believe anything different. We were roped into attending one of these presentations while in Las Vegas when they offered us a free WEEK stay at any Wyndham Resort. All we had to do was give them a $30 deposit and 90-minutes of our time. We arrived as instructed at the resort, and they put us in a noisy room full of our fellow victims. Hostage is a better term because we all had our Drivers Licenses confiscated “for security purposes”, more on that later. Once we were one on one with a member of the Sales Team, the pressure mounted. The following statements were what made us agree to buy from them, but they turned out to be completely dishonest… “Book anywhere in the world at any time.” “You will OWN the property.” “This is a rentable, real estate income source.” Now, back to “for security purposes”, you need security if you are attending a Timeshare presentation. Why? They are stealing your personal information proactively to get ahold of your financial information, by running your credit scores based on the information stolen from your Drivers’ License. We would know, they did a HARD credit score pull on us, without our knowledge. They might not have been caught if they had not told us that they were doing a “soft” credit pull, also without our knowledge until after the fact. These scammers hit us with more lies like, “if you aren’t satisfied with the product, we could simply make a phone call and cancel our contract”. Meanwhile, they never disclosed that there is a limited number of days that you have to cancel the contract.

We sent the Wyndham CEO a letter, with specific names and details about the outright fraud that has taken place, only to receive an email requesting a phone call. We are both in our mid-60s, I am a fully disabled Veteran and my wife had to retire early due to health concerns, significantly diminishing our household income. Now, in addition to not being able to afford a product that was misrepresented in terms of value and cost, we have realized there are no VIP benefits to be had. We are 5 years into a contract that will be double in price because of the interest rate they couldn’t be bothered to disclose. Wyndham will even lie to existing Owners stating that they are REQUIRED to go to meetings, here’s a hint, you are NOT required to do anything. This is where they pretend that there is something, new, exciting, or needed. The only need is theirs, a need to drain your bank account further. Google them, and read the reviews, regardless of size, glitz, glamor, and golf, timeshare holds no actual value. Finally, we believe that our research has yielded enough evidence that the omissions such as truth in lending and other addendums should nullify our contract. We signed our contract digitally and were given a thumb drive…the Public Offerings Statement is simply not there. So, now we join ranks of people who discovered after the fact that the “benefits” are lies. Google reveals that Wyndham is NOT associated with Disney resorts and theme parks or Norwegian Cruise Line. Statements, made by Wyndham employees about the ability to resell the timeshare were also NOT truthful. The reality of the matter is that timeshares are practically worthless, made further worthless by Wyndham’s disreputable point system. There are no deeds. There is no physical address. There is no market for timeshares as no one wants them. Wyndham – respond to our letter IN WRITING, we don’t trust anything that is verbalized by anyone in your company.

Club Wyndham, Wyndham Vacations, and WorldMark the Club are all the same company with the same hard-core sales tactics that leave you with the impression that you are being held hostage. What is crazy is that they speak in absolutes, as if we don’t have any rights while on their properties. Our “awakening” initially occurred when we were told we had to attend a mandatory meeting where our Id’s were collected at the Bonnet Creek property, in Orlando, Florida in April of 2022. We had been owners for 4 months and this was our first “owners update”. During this update, they opened new credit cards on us without our prior authorization for the down payment to upgrade because we didn’t have the money. Each time we travel, there is always another high-pressure sales presentation. I don’t know why they bother to even call them updates, because there are no updates to give – besides giving them more money. This deceitful activity repeating itself was the final straw for us. When the staff told us they had signed us up for a Wyndham Earners VISA card to cover a down payment for another upgrade that we never agreed to (for the second time), we knew this company had very unethical practices. The pressure from the sales staff is disturbing, and at this point, EMPLOYEES are the main reason we want out of our timeshare contract. What kind of company, in this economy is randomly running people’s credit and opening cards without their authorization? Wyndham that’s who! How is this even legal?

Wyndham Resorts, as far as we are concerned, engages in totally fraudulent behavior. First and foremost, regardless of whether you participate in a get-away or sign up for any incentives in exchange for your time, PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR WATCH. 120 minutes is your only obligation so, if you have given them your time and attention as agreed to, they are required to let you go, along with any free gifts that you were offered. We were told that we if we purchased, we would have access to overseas resorts. What they didn’t say is that most of those resorts are only accessible through 3rd party affiliations that require you to pay additional fees and adhere to their rules. And of course, availability is always a factor. It feels like no matter what you have agreed to purchase, it will NEVER translate to what they promise you in their high-pressure sales presentation. The reservation system is very difficult to navigate. I would mention that we found housing at comparable properties that were readily available, and at much more affordable rates. To date, we have benefited from nothing and have the frustration, bills, and anger to prove it. We are senior citizens, on a fixed income, and my husband is a Vietnam Veteran on disability. One would think that Wyndham would take care in how they are presenting their product and program to people like us. We were totally taken advantage of and we’ve asked that they release us from the contract.

Bait and switch alert! Wyndham Vacation Ownership has lied to us not once but on 3 separate occasions during their sales presentations. Now, upon fully understanding they are scammers, we are going to act. Our story is a long one and we are in the middle of fighting to end our contract with them. We are a family that has been stricken with what seems like an insurmountable loss; coupled with being a Military family diagnosed with PSTD, we are determined to push through this. We hope that this will STOP someone else from falling victim to this highly sketchy company, the odds of you falling victim to one or all these items seems highly likely. ONE - We did NOT receive the incentives as promised by the Marketing employees who set up the presentation. TWO - Prior to signing the contract, the salesperson told us not to ask questions and told us what to say when certain questions were asked. THREE - “Benefits” outlined included: Ability to refinance, 100% availability to all resorts, Cruises, and car rentals at a fraction of the price, Exclusive access (to anything is a LIE). We were told we purchased into a private resort only for owners but found that non-owners have more availability than timeshare owners. It was not explained that this was a contract in perpetuity that would be left to our children along with all the payments. Never once were we told about a rescission period. We were never shown our loan information, including the interest rate and loan amount. We were signed up for a credit account without our authorization. We are disgusted with Wyndham Vacations – steer clear of them at all costs.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! AVOID ANYTHING TO DO WITH WYNDHAM! They lie to you from the first words out of their mouth to get you to sign up and then they are done with you. Once you sign there's no going back and kiss your credit goodbye. So many promises that are lies and they basically brainwash you until you sign. Get up and walk out before you sign anything. If we could only go back in time. Literally the biggest mistake anyone can make in life. I can't say enough bad things about them and if I do I would go to jail for what I want to say. I hope anyone reading this will please avoid them and hopefully I helped you not to sign with them!

Imagine going to the grocery store and coming home with a receipt of more than $20,000. This is what happened when we were stopped at our local grocery store. A booth intrigued us with the glimmer of highly discounted tickets. The salesperson sweetened the offer by giving us free tickets. The catch? Our presence at a timeshare meeting, only 45 minutes long so our kids wouldn’t get too anxious. Little did we know, we would sit there for 4.5 HOURS with our children growing more brutish by the second. I am warning every one of you to not fall for the schemes of Wyndham. My husband and I were already weary of timeshares, and I wish we followed our instinct on not to trust these companies. Now, we’re stuck in this contract and are responsible for two credit cards we were misled into signing up for. They feed you lies to get you into the contract, the most recurring being “the cancellation process is free and easy.” From the very start, this has been ANYTHING BUT easy, let alone free. Save yourself a lot of money and a world of hurt, do NOT trust Wyndham.
