Wyndham timeshare. Don't do it
During our visit to Las Vegas, we were out exploring all the different casinos along the Strip but ended up being hoodwinked by Wyndham Vacations. When we stopped at the Flamingo, we were approached by representatives from Wyndham, who persuaded us to attend their timeshare seminar with promises of exclusive benefits and additional rewards. We were convinced and decided to attend the Wyndham presentation. When we went to the meeting, we were hounded with multiple requests. First, they wanted our IDs from us, for what reason, we are still unsure. Secondly, we immediately got placed in a room to watch a presentation and a slick sales guy gave all sorts of talking points about the benefits of becoming Wyndham members. We were incessantly, almost drilled into our heads that's how much they kept repeating it, that buying a timeshare with Wyndham is investing in real estate. We could rent out our timeshares, even sell it later. We went through 3 incessant hours of this, being told that we can travel anywhere in the world and that availability is super open for all their "owner-exclusive" resorts. Now we are stuck with the full ownership financed through Wyndham credit cards, with a total commitment of $20,074 at an outrageous interest rate. With no hopes of refinancing (as we were instructed), because it’s not possible through a bank or credit union, because it is NOT real estate. All that aside, initially, we were excited about the prospect of vacationing with our family in premium accommodations. However, our enthusiasm waned as we encountered booking difficulties and were subjected to relentless sales pressure to upgrade our membership during a mandatory seminar, which significantly extended beyond the promised time. This experience has been a harrowing ordeal, leaving us financially drained. We caution others to thoroughly research and consider the implications of timeshare ownership before committing to such illicit agreements.

Over the course of our ownership
Over the course of our ownership, we have had nothing but trouble with our Wyndham Vacation Ownership. It has been an incredibly frustrating experience overall, one full of many uncomfortable and unpleasant moments. We are also at a point of financial stress in our lives, something that has redirected us to reconsider and reflect on what we are spending our money on, which I will explain later in this letter. After mulling it over, we have come to realize that our time with Wyndham has been mostly full of lies and scams to take thousands of dollars from us. The rooms have not been renovated in quite some time and the pullout couch in the second room was falling apart. The maintenance person stated he could either fix it to sleep in or sit on, but not both. We complained to the office, who asked us to come and talk to them. This is when our troubles began to get even worse. They stuck us on a timeshare presentation to fix our “complaint.” Each purchase or upgrade was concluded in a meeting with the finance person that was rushed, leaving us with no time to thoroughly review documents or ask important questions. This lack of transparency and a rushed process has contributed to our dissatisfaction. We do not endorse Worldmark by Wyndham or Wyndham Vacations (or whatever name they are using these days).

Nothing more than a facade....
The hopes and dreams we pinned on this decision to purchase a timeshare from Wyndham Resorts has turned out to be nothing more than a facade. We still need to plan far in advance, maintain a flexible vacation schedule, and be prepared to change our destination- precisely the reasons we struggled to vacation before committing to the contract. Wyndham's sales information proved to be misleading at best. Our lack of understanding of the finer details, especially regarding property availability for "owners," left us feeling exploited. We had trusted those who spoke to us, believing they understood our desire for more vacations, easier planning, and expanded opportunities. However, none of these promises materialized. The ownership did not alleviate our vacation affordability challenges or deliver on its potential to open new destinations. Several years later, we still face the same obstacles that hindered our ability to vacation before, and they remain unresolved despite our investment in the Wyndham contract.

Wyndham Timeshare Nightmare
We were lured into a trap by an employee of Wyndham Vacations while in Tennessee. She assured us that the presentation would only take about an hour and even gave us a discounted rate on the Sky Bridge near our lodging in Gatlinburg, TN. Given the harsh weather and the promise of free trips, we decided to go to the presentation. We then headed to the Wyndham Preview Center, where we were asked to provide our ages and gross household income. The person at the counter explained that this information was for demographic purposes only. Shortly after, we met our salesperson, who started by asking us about our hometown, our occupations, the reason for our visit to Pigeon Forge, and if we enjoyed traveling. My wife and I shared that we had recently been to Las Vegas for a music festival and were currently vacationing in Gatlinburg, celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary with a visit to Pigeon Forge. The salesperson then mentioned that if we liked traveling and wanted to do it more often, the upcoming presentation would show us a system that would allow us to avoid worrying about room prices as they increased. When this questionable human learned that I was a veteran, he mentioned that he was one too, which made me trust him more, assuming he wouldn't take advantage of a fellow veteran. Yet I was completely wrong! We haven't used any of the trips or points we received. We were also never informed by him or any of the other salespeople that we had ten days after closing to cancel the contract. When we called and spoke with the Care team, they asked if we had contacted the sales team within those ten days, which we had not, as we were unaware it was an option. We just want our contract terminated as soon as possible because of the lies, sheer lack of transparency, and significant amount of coercion we were subjected to.

Hawthorn suites Erie PA USA AVOID Disgusting
Hawthorn suites Erie PA USA. This hotel was disgusting. Blood on walls Orange goo on walls. Dead bugs all over floor, on stove. Mattresses covered in crud and human biological pieces. Doors haven't ever been cleaned. Used washcloth in shower. We had a suite that had new lino but it was disgusting. Pet friendly but overly friendly. Dogs everywhere. The place flooded when we were there at Christmas. This time we had the most disgusting experience. Then there was a shooting a week later. Staff was dismissive and then didn't care about the state of the place. We're really rude through emails. Offered points but I'd never stay at this hotel ever again.

Wyndham Vacations has roped us into a…
Wyndham Vacations has roped us into a predatory contract…so watch out for yourselves! We don’t need to give every detail; it boils down to this. The sales representative, who had been quite amiable up until that point, suddenly adopted a brisk, business-like demeanor, ushering me to a small, cramped table cluttered with papers. Before I could even take a moment to collect my thoughts, a stack of documents was thrusted in front of me, with a pen practically placed in my hand. The representative proceeded to flip through the pages at a dizzying pace, pointing to where I should sign or initial without offering me the slightest opportunity to read what I was agreeing to. It was explicitly stated that these were standard procedures and that there was nothing in the documents that hadn't been discussed during our meetings. However, the rapid-fire delivery of this information, coupled with the chaotic environment, made it virtually impossible for me to process anything meaningfully. I was reassured that this was merely a formality and that taking time to review the documents in detail was unnecessary. Regrettably, I allowed myself to be swept up in the moment and signed the contract under these pressurized conditions. Compounding my regret is the realization that at no point during this whirlwind closing was I informed of my right to rescind the contract, nor was I presented with the Public Offering Statement. These are legal documents that any buyer should be made aware of, as they provide important protections and insights into the purchase. The omission of these details further exemplifies the lack of transparency and fairness in the handling of my transaction. Shame on you Wyndham Resorts; your unethical ways will catch up with you.

Run away - don't sign anything
If I could give this company less then one star I would. Run run run, stay there at your own risk. They give away everything and then subject you to pushy sales people. If you sign you get a very short cooling of period, they set it up that way so you lose your deposit and they make up what they've spent on marketing to get you there. The only way this company is still in business is because they have a good legal team.
