I am writing this review to express my dissatisfaction with Wyndham Worldwide Vacation Club
I am writing this review to express my disappointment with Wyndham Vacation Club. As self-employed individuals in our 60s, we purchased this timeshare with the dream of creating lasting vacation memories for our family. Instead, we have experienced countless problems and were misled about what we were buying. To start, we were pressured to attend a "30-45 minute" presentation. This short presentation ending being 7 hours of dealing with high pressure sales. They convinced us that we "needed" to upgrade to a deeded property by claiming our existing contract had no real value and couldn't be passed down to our children. We were worn down after seven hours and eventually agreed to the upgrade, even though we had repeatedly explained we couldn't afford additional monthly payments. We've since discovered that many things we were told were simply lies! We were promised our points would always be enough for a three-bedroom suite for 7 nights and they aren't. No one told us the points needed for rooms would increase every year. We weren't informed that maintenance fees would jump by double digits annually. The current $2,500 yearly maintenance fee was never mentioned. The promised "anytime" vacation weeks aren't actually available anytime. The cruise benefits we were promised require booking through a separate company. Just three weeks after that first stay, we had another terrible experience when Wyndham's mistake with our reservation dates left us scrambling to find last-minute accommodations that cost us over $4,000. Even our third visit in July was marred by the same aggressive sales tactics we'd experienced before. As New Jersey residents, we feel we weren't given proper information about our right to cancel this contract. We work hard for our money, and this has become a financial burden rather than the family legacy we were promised.
