One of the most incompetent companies I have ever had the displeasure of working with. For nearly a year now, I have been trying to make a simple investment transfer to another company. This should a week, but not with WFG. What a disaster. Complete lack professionalism. Run, don’t walk, away from this institution.

Excellent platform to build you and your business
It's a great platform to work and build business. I notice people mentioned its scam. How can it be scam since u need license to do business? How can some licensed person get into scam and why financial institutions get into scam. Grow up guys.

The company isn't a scam, but the Agents will scam you.
The company isn't a scam, it's a legit company. However, the insurance agents themselves are all contracted and they will scam you. There's no integrity, no one is actually educated in finances. They all get the same script and you have to follow that script everywhere you go. There's no department that verifies if everything was done appropriately, thus leading to people constantly being ripped off. They go around cancelling your current plans or plans other agents have made specifically to make money off you. The people above TAKE the money you're supposed to earn, you only get 30%, but as an independent agent not working under wfg or working under a different you get 100%. It's just your typical MLM. They will tell you it's not a pyramid, but if there are only a handful of people at the top, and a majority on the bottom, that is a pyramid. You have to recruit people but you aren't allowed to tell them what the company does until they agree to be recruited. There's a complete LACK of transparency. They show up to people's homes unannounced and they basically harass you until you get recruited or buy a plan. Don't get me wrong, there are agents and offices that are working with integrity and through proper means and channels, however, because of how easy it is to cheat people there are a lot more agents scamming people than actually doing any good. Also, many people that do get recruited don't realize what they are in for and they lose a lot of money in the recruitment process as well as getting lost in the false promises. Highly recommend looking into each agent and how they conduct their business before you decide to do business with them.

WFG has changed my life
WFG has changed my life. The opportunity to have investment growth of uninterrupted compound interest with a risk-averse strategy is phenomenal! I have learned more about how money works in 6 months since being introduced to WFG than I did in a decade working in finance for both the banking industry and private corporations. I also really love that their mission is simply to educate and help people save money.

2 Reviews: customer side and agent side
Review for potential customers:
Very simple - WFG is a platform (like Uber, OfferUp, Etsy, etc.). Find an agent who is a good fit, who has a style compatible with what you value, and who you trust.
Amazing training is provided by WFG; however, the company is not responsible for any insurance or securities advisement, that responsibility is on advisers specifically. Make sure your adviser describes everything to your satisfaction.
Think of it like shopping for a realtor - two realtors can work at the same broker and they can have extremely different styles.
Review for potential agents:
WFG gives an opportunity to anyone to open a financial services company as long as they pursue state licensing and pass the initial light background check.
When approached by the concept of WFG as an income I had some concerns (for example, they give income opportunities to everyone? Surely not everyone will be qualified.)
However, the longer I remained open-minded to that concept, it was clear to see that just because everyone has an opportunity, it does not mean that just anyone will succeed. Some people expect instant results or they don't work and then get frustrated by the lack of compensation.
The path to establishing a firm with WFG is similar to other financial firm pursuits - takes a lot of work and marketing upfront. WFG makes it easy by providing the platform and relationships to financial firms, thus a portion of commission goes to WFG. Due to this easier path, it can be snubbed by other firms that had do "had to do it on their own".
WFG also has similar apprenticeship structure to other financial firms or realty brokers, as in you bring individuals onboard and train them to perform services - thus you earn a percentage off of agent's business.
The pieces that make it different from MLM's is that 1. there is no additional mark-up to products in order to compensate agents, 2. it is possible in WFG to surpass your direct mentor if you do more activity than them, 3. if one of your agents gets to broker level, you as a broker get rewarded through bonuses.
Also, the obvious - MLM's don't require licensing exams. But call it whatever you like, it changes nothing.
