Offboarded me for no reason.
Offboarded me for no reason.

Workada connects highly skilled people with flexible, remote work training the AI systems that are reshaping how the world works. Our contributors review, label, and evaluate real content: the judgment calls that make AI more accurate and useful for the people relying on it. AI needs good human judgment behind it, and the people providing that judgment deserve real flexibility and a company that actually invests in them, through training, feedback, and room to grow into more skilled, paid work over time. If you want meaningful remote work that fits around your life, not the other way around, Workada is the place to be.

Offboarded me for no reason.

I had hopes that this AI company would be different from the others that I have read horror stories about. But after being offboarded this week with a generic email that was apparently sent to many others, this company is no different or better. The email regarding my offboarding claimed that I had received "multiple quality warnings" even though I had not received any prior to being offboarded. I was with the company for about a month and a half, so if there were submissions made that were not up to their standard, that was enough time to notify me and I would have corrected the issue. I find it very contradictory to offboard someone when Workada recently admitted a few days ago that their training materials need to be updated, based on recent feedback received from the client. If Workada's training materials are outdated, how is a contributor supposed to know if what they are submitting is up to par? 🤔

Don't be fooled, they're no different than any other company in the rating / annotation space. They may claim to be different, and may come off friendly, but actions speak louder than words. Don't fall for any statements made that all of the people offboarded did something wrong to deserve it. After maybe not even a month of working here, my access was abruptly terminated with no warning or ability to appeal, with mention of 'my recent submissions'. I asked for more detail because I hadn't even gotten any QA reviews yet, and suddenly they tell me it actually wasn't related to my quality, but claimed I had violated their community guidelines. ⚫ So first they cited my submissions, then suddenly guideline violations, and I'm expected to trust in the validity of their process? It's absurd and casts doubt on the accuracy and fairness of their entire process in the first place. ⚫ I know I did nothing wrong, but to be fair to them, I went and reread through all of their paperwork just in case I did something inadvertently (all the guidelines, and even unrelated pages like their privacy policies), but found no guideline that I was in violation of. Their so-called 'process' seems disorganized, inaccurate, and completely unsubstantiated. They refused to identify which guideline I allegedly violated, citing security and compliance reasons, and stated that the decision was final and could not be appealed. I've been in this space for years, I know how terrible these companies are to honest workers, so I wish I could say I was surprised. I was already expecting things to eventually hit the fan unfairly, especially given what I read on Reddit about their unfair handling of other raters. I just didn't expect it to happen so soon...maybe a few months at least, instead of less than 1. I also never trusted their "we're a family" tone, their emails always felt manipulative to me and always made me feel wary. Clearly, my skepticism was founded. A company that gives unsubstantiated reasons for letting you go and refuses to disclose what you've supposedly done wrong while denying you any opportunity to challenge the accusation is not one I would recommend working for. 🔴🔴 UNDERSTAND that NOBODY doing anything honest in this world refuses someone the right to challenge or defend themselves from accusations. 🔴🔴 Their actions alone prove to me that neither workers nor fairness ever mattered to them. ⚫ All in all, they're just the same as every other rating/annotating platform, while going to great lengths to try to build the reputation that they're "different". Unfortunately for them, it takes actually BEING different to BE different. DO NOT trust or rely on them. If you're working there, just treat every day like your last. ⚫

I actually really liked working for Workada, but then in the middle of tasking I was kicked out of everything. I couldn't contact my pod-lead, the only option I had was the support email. I sent numerous emails and was initially told to send screen shots of everything going on, which I did. I didn't hear back so I continued to reply to that email until finally a different person responded and simply said I was offboarded with absolutely no reasoning. I had never been told there was any issues with my work at all. Disappointed is an understatement at this point.

Horrible experience down from the interview to support to payment till I was randomly off boarded. I do not recommend this platform

The “support” team is terrible. While working as a contributor, they almost never respond, and if your account has been “paused”, at the bottom of the email it will mention that if you have any questions to email them back but don’t even bother trying to get in contact with them to figure out what’s going on because you will NOT get a response. Take it from someone who emailed them TWICE and never heard back. It’s very unprofessional to leave a contributor with no clarification. Mind you, I had a high productivity percentage and never had an issue or have been flagged. As a matter of fact I always received positive feedback from my pod lead/manager in regards of how well I was doing. The only good thing I can say was that the pod lead I had was very kind, helpful, and always gave me the reassurance I needed. Besides that, after being left hanging with no warning or explanation of why my account has been “paused” (whatever that means) I WOULD NEVER WORK FOR THEM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. As someone else said, you are better off working at McDonald’s.

After working with Workada for about a month, my account was suddenly placed under review while I was in the middle of completing a task. I was confused because I had received QA feedback just two days earlier, and my feedback was positive. While there was an area for improvement, I was given very little time to address it before losing access. I reached out to Workada’s support team for clarification, only to receive a generic email stating that my contributor status had been paused following a review of my submissions. No specific concerns, examples, or explanation were provided, and I was given no indication of whether or when I could return to work. My Slack access was also revoked immediately, leaving me unable to contact my pod lead. At this point, I don’t even know whether I’ve been temporarily removed from my project or permanently offboarded. This is honestly disappointing because I enjoyed the projects I was working on. I worked long hours to the platform to support myself and my mother financially just to have my access restricted without any meaningful explanation. I know that companies have quality standards, but contributors deserve transparency, clear communication, and a fair opportunity to address any concerns. I hope Workada reconsiders how these situations are handled and provides affected workers with the clarity they deserve.
