On line made a appointment with me on a saturday and no one showed up after i had driven for 3 hour to get here. Very unhappy.

I was not told that the initial consultation costs $375. They also try to get you to stay out of network with your insurance. They get to make more money that way. When insisted on staying in network, they want to add all of these fees onto the bill that would be in addition to your deductible and max out of pocket. So I have to pay a "retainer fee" for a surgeon just because I want to stay in network and save money? My out of network max is $12,000.00. When I asked how much it was going to cost me if I stayed out of network they couldn't give me a straight answer. All I was told was, "We're not going to charge you $12,000.00." Sorry if I won't take your word for it. Threw up several red flags for me, but the surprise consult bill was the final straw. Be cautious. Edit: I have now gotten another EOB from my insurance showing another charge for a visit of $521.40 along with $363.00 for an EKG that they did NOT do and $180.40 for them to poke my finger to check my sugar. The bills keep coming even though I only went once. Tell me how I am charged for a physician twice in one visit!? Sounds fraudulent to me! Beware!

Do not trust this practice. They advise free consultation but when they called to schedule i was told $500 non refundable fee ( because I had a prior procedure in Mexico) if I saw the surgeon. Since I just had another surgeon tell me he couldn't help me I am not running to throw away $500.

not truthful, charged for procedure that was not needed. they won't compromise!

At five 5’8” and 286 pounds, I was depressed for years. I thought my life was over. I didn't want to go to functions where me friends were because I knew they wouldn't recognize me. My doctor, John DeBarros, is fantastic and he did such a great job – in 3 months, I have lost 60 pounds and I feel great (I had my sleeve done on 11/20/2019)! This journey has been an incredible adventure. I know that my life restoration is ongoing, but I love my gastric sleeve; I would do it again in a heartbeat. I got my life back. I’m happy and I feel healthier than I ever have before. I can finally say that I am learning to be comfortable in my own skin. I’m no longer hiding behind my weight and I am grateful to have found this wonderful tool. I no longer take blood pressure meds and I can walk a long way! It’s amazing, I feel like a new person! This has truly been the best thing of my life. I have more control than I’ve ever had, more self-confidence and a feeling that I will finally be able to maintain this! I feel better, sleep better, have more energy, more confidence AND I feel like I look younger! Thank you, Dr. DeBarros, Mike Murphy, Ariel and WLIA! I wouldn’t have done it without you! Carpe Diem! WLIA is awesome. Very kind and caring during the process. Supportive and helpful. Mike is an excellent dietician. Dr. Buddensick is very kind and extremely helpful.

Awesome experience, very professional, great thorough process, Nancy in pre and post op... THE best! Love Dr Ho and Ariel.... Mike is great too! I gave 5 stars.... there is 1 doctor and nurse that needs some work on bed side manner....... I love this place.... for sure!

I have been a patient for 6 months and will have my surgery in a few weeks. I was very hesitant about weight loss surgery, but the initial information session, staff and specifically Mike Murphy (dietitian), made me realize that this is the way to go. It is great that the staff members are traveling to the different locations, so that there are familiar faces wherever your appointment is. Yes, the wait times can be long, but I use it as an opportunity to catch up on my reading. I am looking forward to the next phase of my life after surgery and am grateful to know I have a caring and supportive team at WLIAZ to encourage me every step of the way.
