Fairly reliable for about a year and then only intermittent the last few months. Looking for other options.

Cautionary tale…I got this service in rural Missouri in Oct 2023. For 2 years it was rock solid. The last 4-6 months my internet is down often. It’s always a “fiber line” severed in the area. This last time, it has been down for 2 days and as a work from homer, can’t have it. Wisper went from one of the most reliable to questionable service in less than 6 months. It’s time for Starlink.

I have been with whisper for several years and at first the service was ok. I was able to stream movies etc.. Can only run one tv and still buffers. I just dealt with it freezing up about 10 times during a 30 min mini series and sometimes it just would not load. I called tech support a few weeks ago and after further reviewing the tech said he found the problem. Said they had made a mistake and put to many on the tower ? Not happy with this service and will be looking for alternatives.

It only works great when it’s perfect weather outside, I mean that literally. When it’s too hot, rainy/stormy, snowing, it WILL, I repeat, WILL, go out. At the most random times, it goes out as well like right now, Aug. 6, 2022. Like what the heck could possibly be wrong. And then when it’s time to actually leave work, they do, instead of fixing the internet and working overtime like they are supposed too, so much for customers first.

Okay, leaving out offensive words. Clodpils. I had a lot more to say but, editing cut that down to a single word Yeah. Every time it rains or snows here in Alexander County you can guarantee Wisper will go down like the Titanic, be down for the day and when service does return, it will be sporadic for a day or two afterwards. Do you, like a large share of the router market, use Netgear? Too bad, unsupported. A company that has a 14 billion dollar share of home internet routers (as common as cracks in Cairo sidewalks) and they are unsupported.for as large as whisper claims to be, that's one **** of an oversight. Think your internet is experiencing an outage ? I have good news and bad news. Good news, they have an outage page. Bad news, it may not be up to date until after the complaints reach a certain level. C'est la vie. You will just have to guess, or hold during an 8 note snippet that repeats eternally. Psych warfare 101, play annoying music repeatedly until you drive your enemy bat****. Works on most people. Veterans ? Ha ! We are used to this. What I'm saying is not since dialup days have I seen such slipshod communications. If you have a choice, use it. But we know what happens when a giant ISP takes over in a small town. Competition is crushed.

Is my wi fi password changed when previous owner merged with wisper ? I can't get my password to work. And speeds do seem slower since I raised my speed when Wisper took it over.

First off, the price is outrageous! That's because they have a monopoly in our area. If you want internet, you have to use Whisper. And by the way, Whisper is a rather ironic name considering, that's exactly what you get for your money,, a whisper of internet service. Duke.

It's OK for streaming but when playing video games online it's not great all ways high latencies and package loss with lag can't play call of duty very well with that and to download updates for games take up 10hr or the hole day in Bluford, Illinois
