Worth A Look
UPDATE: Winston did get back to me and provided a firmware update that resolved most of the issues I have been experiencing, notably returning the Samsung TV to full service. The Winston is back on my network for about five days and I have not had to turn it down, so this is a very good sign. I believe the support issues that I experienced are due to growing pains more than anything else, and they are working to improve that. Overall, this is a technically sound solution to the issue of online privacy and worth supporting. I'm glad it's working again. ------------ Well, it's a great concept and I'll miss it, but it does not work, mostly because of complete lack of technical support (technical as in fixing broken stuff). FIrst off, if you have a Samsung TV, just kiss it goodbye; it won't work anymore. It basically shuts down your mobile wireless for any secure online transactions (not necessarily a bad thing, but at least give us the option). Same with a lot of online secure transactions (paying bills, etc). I end up shutting it down more often than leaving it on, which is a sure sign of a poorly designed security appliance. I am a CISSP and CEH and in the InfoSec business for >15 years. I'd love to have this on my home network but it eliminates the purpose of having the network and they cannot fix their problems. I'm kissing it goodby today, along with the hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours I've spent trying to make it work.
