Received initial order not stained. Spacers between racks need to be wider because the opening for wine bottles does not accommodate ones that have a slightly larger bottom. Received stained pieces and stain appears to be applied quickly so stain is not even. Racks are like Lincoln Logs so not very sturdy. Overall disappointed in quality and design.

I spent $12,000 on a set of three black walnut racks. It took four tries (different shipments) over 4 months for them to send all the correct pieces. Some of the product is clearly black walnut but the side pieces and connectors appear to be particle board with a black walnut finish. This was not described on the website when you order. The assembly directions (available on their website) leave a tremendous amount to be desired. One item of note, after I assembled one of the cases with a diagonal display and mounted it to the wall I realized that the wine bottles would not fit without hitting the wall. I had to disassemble the unit and create my own one inch spacers and then remount. It would have been very helpful for them to describe this or provide spacers. Everyone at the company was very nice each time I called and tried to get the issues fixed but the mistakes just went on and on. Quality control is severely lacking. They did provide a "small gift" for my troubles. It was a spot cleaner that when I looked on Amazon retailed for $21. They ignored my written request to provide any financial credit for all the issues. It hardly feels like adequate compensation for what I went through. Ultimately, I like the final product but would not buy from them again due to all the issues.

The stain that was applied to the wood (Cherry) was red and not the color expected. In addition, some of the pieces where connected are not at 90 degree angles.

Customer service is awful with respect to response time to answer questions prior to a purchase. The customer service rep I was working with does not even know their own products. It has taken weeks to answer simple questions.

I ordered separate upper and lower Premium racks. The upper rack was a standard individual rack and the lower rack was an "open diamond" design. I was extremely frustrated with the assembly of the open diamond. First off, the instructions for assembly did not depict the parts that I had received, and the exploded diagram was overlapping so that it was very difficult to make out what was going on. Once I was able to decipher the design, I found that the parts that would supposedly hold together with friction would not do so. The assembly just came apart, not even as snug as Lincoln Logs. I ended up having to purchase a brad nailer and proceed to nail each joint of the inserts and then the inserts to the frame. To add to my frustration, the company recommended a nail length that turned out to be too long, resulting in nails protruding where they should be buried. I had to get shorter nails, further prolonging the project. Additionally, the grid was apparently intended to be assembled with a front and back, but this was not mentioned in the instructions. This resulted in some front edges being nicely rounded while others were not. I discovered this subtlety only after the inserts were nailed together. Lastly, with all of this frustration in assembly, the company did not express much sympathy and basically told me that I must be doing something wrong - everything worked on their end. They never owned their error. In the end, I got a $50 credit back but this was only after specifically asking for it, and then following up several days later. I ended up beta testing their shoddy design and had to pay for the privilege. Overall, a disappointing experience. I have my rack assembled, but am not happy with how it went. As of this writing, they have pulled apparently pulled the product from their website, so at least others won't go through what I did.
