I use them three times. For a 5 pound box of sockeye, coho, and Keto. Shipped fast and cold. Sockeye and coho was fine, but pretty much the same thing as I can get at my local supermarket. My local fishmonger always told us Keto is worse than dog food and never to buy for anything or anybody? I should’ve listened to him. I thought I’d try the Keto just to see what I was like. Beyond horrible, we had to throw it in the trash.

Received ordered seafood and the packages consisted of several pieces of fish that were obviously from different fish. Not at all what I expected. The small pieces were like 2 oz each…. Now what am I supposed to do with that??? Will not be a return customer.

I was disappointed. I love Salmon and I know what wild Alaskan taste like. Marbled and rich. This had a great color, but very bland like Atlantic farm raised. I took extra care to cook it perfectly. Very disappointing!

Truly wild caught Alaskan Salmon is normally much leaner than a farm raised Atlantic Salmon so most often, the flavor can be milder as wild salmon spend most of their life cycle swimming against strong currents resulting in a lower fat content. I ordered the 10 lbs of Alaska Wild Sockeye salmon. The dry ice had evaporated when I opened the foam box. The fillets were individually packed and seemed sufficiently frozen still (so, it held up during the transit even though the inside of the box didn't feel particularly cold). There were bones in the fillet, and as some have mentioned, the balance between body vs tail portions may concern some. The price point for Wild Alaska Salmon's sockeye came out to be $16.50 per pound. I regretted making this purchase soon after as my local Costo had an offer for Copper River Salmon (Sockeye) that were going at various price points, from $14.99 to $11.99. In addition, the Costco Copper River salmon was more crimson in color (Copper River salmon is much better known to have richer Omegas). Net, one may want to check out your local Costco warehouse.

It is not uncommon for the dry ice to be completely evaporated by the time the order is delivered, but we are very happy to hear that the product did arrive frozen! We are now adding extra dry ice to all of our shipments to combat this issue. Also, we are now offering all of our Sockeye Salmon as completely boneless! I'm a huge salmon fan but unfortunately I thought the batch I received was a bit freezer burnt or something. Pretty dry and not very flavorful no disrespect. I would order from you again if I new the batch would be of better quality. I thought your website was clean, professional and easy to use, thank you.

The fish arrived quicker than estimated and still completely frozen. Unfortunately, a few vacuum bags were broken, probably because it is so hard and they hit each other in shipping. If it is stored in your freezer for a while, those pieces will get freezer burn. As for the fish, it tastes very good. However, there're more bones than there should be. It's really not a big deal to pull them out with tweezers when defrosted but a nuisance. Why I won't buy again, Costco has a 3 lb bag of frozen Alaskan salmon filets for less than $30 and are better deboned. Taste seems the same to me. Now I've heard that some companies ship frozen salmon to China where it is defrosted, fileted, deboned, refrozened then shipped to the US. I hope Costco doesn't do this but I'm sure Wild Alaska Salmon and Seafood does not.

Hey Robert, I am glad to hear you found the taste of our salmon to be very good. We pride ourselves on having the highest quality salmon. However, I am sorry to hear that a few of the vacuum bags had lost their seal. We try our hardest to make sure they are packed tight to avoid shifting in transit. As you mentioned, eating those first will help avoid any freezer burn. If you found a substantial amount were popped, please contact us and we will make sure to send you some sealed packs. In regards to the pin bones, we do not debone because that can take away from the quality of the fish. We catch, process, and freeze all of our fish so quickly that the pin bones can not be mechanically removed. Yes, you are correct about oversea processing. That is something that happens these days. That is why it is so important to know your fisherman. We take pride knowing that our salmon is caught and processed in the great state of Alaska by us! We hope you will continue to purchase directly from your fisherman!

The taste of the salmon was fresh and delicious and delivered quickly. I've lived in Alaska before and love the salmon. This particular batch of salmon was filled with TONS. Don't get me wrong I've had bones in salmon before and understand that it happens, but there were just way too many and won't be ordering in the future.

Hey Kirstin, We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with our salmon due to the amount of bones. Pin bones can certainly be obnoxious. The reason our salmon has pin bones, is because we process and freeze our fish before they can be mechanically removed. We have chosen this route because we can preserve the quality of the salmon. Removing them can be done with either pliers or tweezers, and a rule of thumb we like to follow when eating salmon is to eat from top to bottom, not side to side (or eat from north to south, not east to west). By approaching the fillet this way, you will always run into the line of pin bones and can pull them aside. If you want to avoid pin bones all together, we recommend ordering the portion fillets and specifying you would like tail pieces. These pieces should contain little to no bones. We hope you will give our salmon another try with this new information.

I purchased 25 lbs of your sockeye salmon and found it to be average at best. The salmon was water logged and lacked taste. I am debating whether to try you again......Disappointing!

Hey Anthony, We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the sockeye salmon. Have you considered trying the other species we catch? King or Keta salmon are great options. We hope you will consider trying the other species and finding one that matches the flavor and texture you are looking for in wild caught salmon.
