I applied for a scholarship opportunity…
I applied for a scholarship opportunity through Wiccan Academy and paid the $5 application fee to be considered. Shortly afterward, I received an email stating that a winner had already been selected and that the decision had come down to me and one other applicant. The email also offered me the opportunity to purchase the program for a discounted price. What concerned me was that shortly after receiving that message, I received another email stating that the scholarship winner would be announced the following day. The two emails directly contradicted each other, so I reached out for clarification. After sending a detailed inquiry, I received only a brief one-sentence response stating that the emails had been sent by mistake and that I should disregard them. But which one? Which email was I supposed to disregard? I still have no idea. While mistakes can happen, the situation left me questioning the transparency of the scholarship process. I would have appreciated a more thorough explanation, especially since applicants paid a fee to participate. Not to mention, I never even received an email stating who the winner was. My intention is not to discourage others, but simply to share my experience so that prospective applicants can make an informed decision and ask questions if they encounter similar issues.
