I bought organic apples and they looked fine but when you go to eat them, they tasted moldy. I tried to buy some organic instant oatmeal and it was full of sugar had to bring it back. I go to whole foods usually for quality foods. I am really second guessing them now. Maybe Sprouts is a better choice?

Quality Produce / Operational Problems
In my area Whole Foods has the most consistent quality organic produce. However, it also the most expensive. I usually shop other stores first, then go to WF to buy things I can't find elsewhere.
I agree with everyone else that the shopping experience and variety of products has tanked since Amazon took over Whole Foods.
Whole Foods has made it more and more difficult to contact them about product or service issues. You used to be able to contact them by phone, email, or chat. Now it's only by chat and they are often distracted by chatting with several customers at once and often miss the point of the reason for your contacting them.
I frequently shop in the evening and there seems to never be a manager on duty or available to speak to. And they refuse to give you the name of the manager so you can call the next day. One time I was at the store during afternoon hours and asked to speak the manager. The clerk called the manager and told me SHE would be right up. Next thing I know a guy walks up with a name badge consisting of a piece of masking tape with his name written on it with a ballpoint pen and claimed he was the manager.
I know I sound like a Karen who wants the manager, but I wanted to report potential fraud (for months my Apple Pay receipts were listing another company and not Whole Foods), potential liability issues (the filtered water machine not working properly), etc.
Although the store is open until 10 p.m. often if you go mid-evening a lot of their specialty product areas and counters are closed or are in the process of closing, one check out lane is open, and no manager is on duty or they are hiding somewhere in the store. IMO, everything should be opened and fully staffed during a store's business hours. If it only makes business sense to have the store fully open and staffed until 5 p.m., then the store should close at 5:00 p.m., but then I imagine they'd try to start shutting everything down at 2p or 3p so they can leave at 5p.
I could say so much more and add examples of my experiences, but this is already too long. Basically if you go there with low to no expectations you won't be too disappointed.

The quality of the salad bar is disappointing.
The quality of the salad bar, hot bar, and ready to eat desserts are steadily going downhill. And there is no point in talking to a manager about it. They are convinced their food is the best there is.
Whole Foods used to serve a variety that changed day to day. Now, it's the exact same everyday. The quality is the same or lower than the old Furs cafeteria, and getting worse.
Meatloaf, short on meat, LONG on loaf. Asparagus is bottom of the barrel, most of it, only a pig could chew. Leather-like lasagna. UNDERCOOKED Sweet potatoes.
I could go on and on. Go check it out yourself.
Their desserts are LOADED with preservatives. They don't even taste good. There is a distinct artificial aftertaste, indicative of cheap food. Dessert is not good for you. The least you can do is get some that actually taste good. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEIRS IS SO EXPENSIVE.
I tried to talk with a manager about it, but all they did is deny they put preservatives in their food, WHICH IS A BLATANT LIE.
I've been a Whole Foods customer for decades, but ever since bezos took over, the quality is tanking. There are many other places to get good food now. I tried to tell them, but they didn't want to hear it. Goodbye.

I've been going to WF for a good 10…
I've been going to WF for a good 10 years. The veggies have always been great looking and fresh, albeit waaay overpriced. Not so on the price in the beginning. They had good sales, plus that 10% bonus off. The bonus is mostly gone, storewide. Gotta save that $$$. Today I walked through the produce, bakery, dairy and aisle after aisle without stopping. Well, I stopped, then moved on.
I did get 5lbs of frozen white shrimp @ 10.99 per, which is why I go at all now. Meats, poultry and seafood is ubergood, in store, but still expensive -- too expensive for me, mostly. I've gotten the home delivery, and sometimes get real crap for hamburg, meats and my shrimp (spoilage, old and discolored snuck in). So I don't go delivery anymore. It was a covid thing.
I bought a panini, $9.99 and good, a tortellini salad @ $9.99 lb, it was okay and grapeleaves which are called dolmas when THEY'RE overpriced. They were fresh and goodtasting @ $8 for 10. Better quality than Market Basket (a MA, So NH thing) @ $2 for 8, better rice, flavor the same, and about double what I'd expect. I was going to stock up on WF pasta, generally $1 for 16oz when chosen carefully, on sale, but it was $1.59 and I walked. Prepared foods are sodium packed, which I can't do @ 75yrs old w/ issues. I found 6-pack albacore which was always $11.99, now $14.99 and I passed on it. Prices on everything are way up, AT LEAST 20% way up. I watch for "sales" every week, but there's never much on offer that's actually healthy. This was at Andover, MA, a clean, well organized store. But I'll be going mostly for my shrimp, which btw has a lower sodium count than found @ grocery stores....200+ mg vs 1600+. Anyway, what's-his-name is about to become a trillionaire at the cost of costs, and who would be surprised in 2023?

So done with Whole Foods!
Many great products have been phased out and replaced by 365 which is terrible; even the coffee gave us stomach cramps. All the helpful supplements and self care items have vanished. I can no longer buy any of the much tastier and healthy items I bought for years. Also the new manager seems to think he works in Fresh Direct- the temperature is absolutely frigid and l could not remain inside more than a few minutes. I did try to point this out to the manager but he said he did not notice it. On top of this the prices are incredibly inflated. After years of shopping there I am taking my business elsewhere, saving money and finding much better products. Good Bye Whole Foods!

Whole Food disappointment.Pork BBQ…
Whole Food disappointment.Pork BBQ contained bones. Scalloped potatoes dry, not creamy, little taste. Apple turnovers hardly contained apples. I've had good experiences before. This time? Ouch.

Good buys . Horrible environment
I liked this company until I experienced the magnitude of discrimination and ignorance within the store. Specifically (inner harbor ,Baltimore md). The customers are very privileged and rude. The staff are unapologetically disgusting. Dogs walking around food / hot food bar . Pan handlers bathing and using the public restrooms as their own. Customers knocking over items or breaking them and not taking responsibility for there actions. Staff are very judgmental and nasty towards ethnicity that are not their own.
