Bought a wheelchair for my dog
Bought a wheelchair for my dog. I took extreme care in contacting their customer service to ensure that this wheelchair was going to do exactly what I needed it to. My dog's measurements would allow her to get a size small however, her weight meant a size medium according to the website. I received the wheelchair and in reading the instructions, they have measurements that didn't line up with the size that I bought. The wheels they gave me were about 7inch when the weight clearly states in their pamphlet that the size of the cart I purchased should have 10inch wheels to hold up to 50lbs. To be fair that 7inch measurement could be 6.75 inches depending on how you measure because they were made of foam and not rubber as they described on the website. Whether they were 6.75 or 7 inches, that size is not listed as the correct size wheel for ANY wheelchair on their included pamphlet. I probably wouldn't have looked twice at the wheel size if the pamphlet didn't have a place for you to sign an oath that you are solely responsible for the correct sizing of you dog and listing the measurements. I would have assumed the website was correct. I also found that one of the pieces that holds the front harness to the wheelchair was broken so if she turned even slightly to the left, it could pop off. The front harness is not the one pictured in their photos. One of the many factors in buying this one over say, HauteWheels, is the harness shape. This one is the exact same as HauteWheels. I needed a wheelchair like this because of the ability to place the wheels in front of my dogs hips as instructed by the vet. Finding a chair to do that without costing $500 or more is extremely difficult. Getting a custom chair seemed ridiculous for only several months use. The design of it is fantastic. I'm still sold on the design. The harnesses and belly sling are honestly good quality and don't seem like they would hurt for long periods. I wouldn't try to buy this for a dog over 25lbs though and at that point you are swimming in options. In short, My guess is this is the exact manufacturer that makes HauteWheels dog wheelchairs because it's the exact same design with their exact harness and colors. I can't speak for or against HauteWheels and this is review is not a reflection on them. Whisker Bark have me the wrong size wheels, made of foam unlike their product description, different harness than pictured, and the frame has a broken piece. I have real difficulty in trusting the company with a wheelchair for my dog. Update: I have now received an email stating the exact same thing. They "included and old pamphlet" and they "will be sending me a new chair." I told them I didn't want a new chair because I do not trust them and will be returning this one for a refund to eceive the exact same email word for word.
