I stayed with Whimstay twice. I did not like the search properties by map. Often properties would appear then disappear. I booked the first time and it was okay. My second booking was terrible and there is absolutely no way to speak with someone to resolve a problem. I wasn't looking for a move or money back, but it sucked the joy out of our stay not to get the reservation corrected. Never again

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re disappointed to hear that your second booking did not meet your expectations.
We make our customer support easily accessible, providing contact information in every email and text message, as well as sharing the host's contact information before and during your stay. After reviewing our records, we found no communication from you, and the host has also confirmed they did not receive any contact.
We genuinely wish we had the opportunity to address your concerns during your stay. Our goal is always to support travelers quickly and effectively to enhance their experience, and it's unfortunate we couldn't assist you at that time.
While your recent experience didn’t go as planned, we hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Absolutely the worst booking survice I…
Absolutely the worst booking survice I have ever used. First the date was changed at checkout putting the trip when I bid not need it and now they tell me "so sad, too bad" I am out $100 even after canceling the trip.
Response to whimstay. I don't know what your records show but they are wrong, that or the person I talked to did not document anything, and I got absolutely no options, not that any of the ones you listed was even usable. After canceling with the host and then trying to cancel with you the host had no problem canceling but because they canceled and you would not it seems you get to keep more than your commission now.
Response from WhimstaySep 20, 2024
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re disappointed to hear that it did not go as you had hoped.
After reviewing our records, we did not receive any communication from you regarding canceling or adjusting your trip before your stay. When you did reach out, we reiterated our cancellation policy, which applies to all bookings. We also offered options to help, such as accommodating a date change or providing a credit to rebook, but you chose to proceed with the cancellation and applicable fee.
We understand that travel plans can sometimes change unexpectedly, and we always do our best to offer solutions that are in line with our policies. We hope you’ll consider booking with us again in the future, and we’re here if you have any further questions.

Horrible experience
If there is a negative review i would have given that. I booked whimstay for 2 night and days. Aug17-19 in lake of ozzark, MO. We want to share the terrible experience that we had. We had 2 small kids and 5 adults, and contacted the host if the sofa bed was working fine to which they said it is in excellent condition. As we entered we realised that it isn’t lake front but just lake view. In our booking it was clearly mentioned it is lake front, we ignored that. After some time we realised the AC is not working properly, it wasn’t cooling properly. The master bedroom was fine but other room was hot and smelling gross that it was difficult to sleep in. At night, when we opened the sofa bed we saw that it is broken, the bunk beds made horrible noises when someone wants to sleep on it, even if someone wants to move it used to make such noises that it was hard to make the kids sleep. After all this when we reached out to whimstay for this awful experience all they had to say was sorry for your bad experience bit the host does not accept all things mentioned obviously they won’t. It’s you who need to verify. Making us feel cheated, I will urge the customer do not book through whimstay.
Response from WhimstaySep 20, 2024
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we understand how disappointing it must have been to feel that your stay did not meet your expectations.
Upon receiving your concerns, we immediately contacted the host to investigate the issues raised. The host sent out a maintenance technician, who was unable to verify the claims related to the AC, sofa bed, or bunk beds. They provided us with confirmation of the service request and follow-up communication indicating that no issues could be found. Based on this, the host made a final decision not to offer a refund.
While we were unable to process a refund due to these findings, we wanted to show our appreciation for your feedback and offer a gesture of goodwill by providing a credit toward a future booking. We strive to advocate for our travelers whenever possible, and this offer was made to ensure a better experience for you in the future.
We acknowledge that this was a frustrating experience, and we will continue to work with both travelers and hosts to ensure the best possible service. If you’d like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Avoid Whimstay
This summer my family had an awful experience with Cozy Suites, losing us more than a $150. Their communication was so bad that my wife and I were convinced they were a scam company. They are either intentionally fraudulent or just very bad at what they do. If you choose to stay with them, read everything carefully and look at every photo before you make your reservation. You are likely to encounter exorbitant hidden charges and a lack of accountability if you complain (see our story below).
It seems likely to us that Whimstay is a failing start-up that is doing its best to hold on to all the money it can before it goes belly-up, unworried about alienating customers. Be prepared for them to side with their property clients over customers in any dispute.
My family and I were on an end-of-summer road trip. I was booking stays along the way, and I came across the Cozy Suites listing in Louisville through Whimstay. The original quote was $66, which seemed amazing. After I clicked through to Whimstay and all the fees were added on, the price had increased by $100. It was more than we wanted to pay but the place looked nice. We have a dog and it said pet friendly in several places. I looked at the pictures on the landing page and read all the text. There was no pet fee listed It seemed like a good place, so we booked it.
About an hour later, I got a message from Cozy Suites asking me to agree to several terms including that I would not bring a pet. I wrote back saying we had a dog, and we thought the place was pet friendly. They told me they would charge me another $100 for our dog. Immediately I asked to cancel and be refunded but both Cozy Suites and Whimstay refused, telling me that the pet fee was announced on the listing. The email from Cozy Suites was especially off-putting, repeating my name over and over in weirdly ungrammatical sentences. It reminded me of those phishing emails you get from “Nigerian princes”.
It turns out that the pet fee is on the listing but in a photo (but not on the landing page). If you don’t click through to the picture page and read all of the 40+ pictures you will miss it because the pet policy is in the very last picture. Additionally, the pet policy allows only dogs under 40lbs, meaning we couldn’t stay there even if we wanted to because our dog is over 50lbs. They refused to help us even though we asked for cancellation within a few hours of booking.
Cozy Suites is either fraudulent or just very bad at communication and customer relations. Whimstay will not protect you from their mistakes.
Update:
A real, viable company would apologize for the problems listed above and solve the problem, not respond with the sophomoric drivel you see in their response. Don't trust this company.
Response from WhimstaySep 20, 2024
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're disappointed to hear about the challenges you encountered during your stay, and we’d like to clarify a few points.
Whimstay is a platform where professional property managers, like Cozy Suites, list their properties. While we don’t control the specific content of their emails, we expect communication to be professional and clear. For over five years, we’ve partnered with thousands of property managers across North America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and soon Europe, collaborating with trusted names like Wyndham, Booking.com, Google, and Expedia.
In regards to the pet policy, we understand that details can sometimes be missed. The pet policy, including the weight restriction and fee, was indeed included in the listing's description and photo gallery. We always encourage travelers to review all listing details carefully before booking to ensure the property aligns with their needs.
As for pricing, we ensure transparency. Taxes and service fees are clearly displayed during the checkout process in compliance with all regulations. There are no hidden or undisclosed fees, and we follow the same structure seen on all major marketplace platforms.
While we are sad to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, we remain committed to working with both travelers and hosts to ensure clear communication and a positive experience. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you'd like to discuss further.

This company is a scam
This company is a scam, book on another site. You will not be given a refund, you cannot reach them as they do not provide a phone number, only email and they lack follow up. You will be ignored and frustrated trying to reach their customer service.
Response from WhimstayAug 9, 2024
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with Whimstay did not meet your expectations.
We want to clarify a few details regarding your concerns. Our team responded to your inquiry within an hour of receiving it, offering assistance and even providing a phone number to connect with you in real-time. Unfortunately, we did not receive a call from you following our outreach.
Regarding your refund request, we understand how frustrating it can be when plans change unexpectedly. However, as noted during the checkout process, our cancellation policy is clearly defined, and we strive to be transparent with our customers about these policies. In this case, we were unable to issue a refund outside of our cancellation policy.
We take pride in honoring our commitment to timely and efficient customer communications, and it’s disheartening to hear that you felt otherwise. Please know that we are here to support you and would welcome the opportunity to assist you further if needed.

Luxury Rules, below poverty standards…BIG FISH RENTAL
Staying in rental propertly, owned by BIg FISH RENTALs.. read this.
Luxury Rules, below poverty standards…
I stayed at a privately owned (BIG FISH RENTALS), one bedroom Camelot townhouse from 7/27-7/29. Candidly speaking, it was the most disgusting and uncomfortable travel experience I have ever encountered.
I found this place through a google search, as I had a mini vacation to Myrtle Beach scheduled. It was too late at this point, but I initially felt weird/sketchy vibes from BIG FISH RENTAL after I officially booked the room and immediately received an email with an extensive and very detailed number of rules and regulations. Now, as a business owner myself, I completely understand the need for rules and regulations, but I honestly didn’t know if I applied for a job or paid for a “home, away from home”. Take a few moments to review some of the rules:
“ A $100 fee will be charged for unaccounted-for linens. , Please DO NOT bring luggage carts into the room, they damage the walls and doors of our condos and we will charge you for the repairs.,
As a reminder, please do not stain our sheets/linens, comforters, or towels as YOU WILL BE CHARGED.,
DO NOT USE SINKS/BATHTUBS TO WASH OFF SAND. SAND CLOGS DRAINS, USE OUTSIDE SHOWERS FOR REMOVING SAND PRIOR TO ENTERING CONDO.,
Please spread out wet towels and shower curtains to dry, this will eliminate mold and mildew problems,
Please leave sheets on the beds, cleaners will remove these,
Turn off all lights and televisions
-Clean out the fridge with any leftover perishable food
-Please remove trash from the condo
- Please do not take any items from the condo that are not yours - YOU WILL BE CHARGED
- Please do not leave any items that you have brought on the balcony or closets (floats, beach chairs, etc)
- PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOCK THE DOOR!
- PLEASE CLEAN UP EXCESSIVE TRASH, YOU WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA CLEANING FEES IF EXCESSIVE”
Sounds like I just booked a room at the Ritz-Carlton, right? The “Welcome” email did not make me feel welcomed, at all. I actually got a sense of anxiety, as it prompted me to feel and think that I needed to live as a tiny little mouse for a place I paid $500 for (2-night stay; $250 per night). Low and below, this townhouse was ridiculously outdated, dirty, and in serious need of a deep cleaning and renovations. My Aunt, who has worked in Hotel Hospitality for over 30 years, mentioned the room would never pass any of her inspections. After our internal review, we felt more comfortable buying our own sheets and towels. There was hair, dirt, & mold everywhere.
The funniest thing I encountered was a text from Julie, reminding me to not lose any of her towels. Julie, did you mean the same towels we found hair on (LOL)? I could go on and go, but my time is very valuable. Long story short, stay at the Island Vista Resort when visiting this area. Secondly, I will post this review in multiple places; Everyone needs to know about this. BIG FISH RENTALS’s Whimstay reviews are quite decent but could very well be staged. After reading their Google reviews, I see that I’m not the only patron who feels this way. BIG FISH, do better please.

Key West nightmare
Came in Friday with my family and the dogs and we got the place which contains what appears to be a black mold. Rust in the bathroom around bath tub, cockroaches running around. The balcony is crooked and cracked. Was afraid to let my kids and my dogs on the balcony because I thought they would crash down from the second floor. The refrigerator was smelling awful and had rust in it. The electrical outlet was brocken and controlling the entire room lightning and tv. This was complete nightmare. By contacting them they are trying to offer me partial refund as a slap to my face. See pictures and be your own judge.
Response from WhimstayAug 12, 2024
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take matters like this very seriously and want to make things right.
However, after thoroughly checking our records, we were unable to find a booking under your name in the Key West region. We’ve reached out to you via Trustpilot to help identify your reservation so that we can investigate this matter further and address your concerns directly.
Please know that our top priority is the safety and satisfaction of our guests. We are committed to ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
If you could kindly provide us with more details or reach out to our support team directly, we'd appreciate the opportunity to assist you further.

Whimstay does not cover damages from guests
As a host using Whimstay to list my properties was a big mistake. The sales reps made it seem like they do a lot of vetting on their guests before allowing them to use their platform but this is not true. In fact we had a situation where they reached out the day of a guest's check in to let me know that they needed to cancel his stay because he did not have a high enough credit score to use their platform. 1. Why was this not discovered until his check in day, he had booked 4 days in advance and 2. What are you going to do to cover to lost income if this was missed on the front end? When this happened I asked Whimstay hosting rep what they suggested in regards to covering the lost income and consumed time on the calendar... they were completely at a loss for how to help or fix the problem that they allowed to happen. Instead, they said never mind it is fine for you to host him that was just all a misunderstanding. Well it was not, the guest refused to leave the property, creating all kind of issues for us, they damaged things, smoked inside even gave us a bed bug scare and after filing a claim with Whimstay they did nothing to cover the cost.
They might have the process to file a claim but after going through it twice it is clear that they do not offer any sort of coverage for damages by guests. Two bad experiences later, I have had enough and do not recommend hosts using their platform to rent your properties.
Response from WhimstayJul 13, 2024
Dear Molly, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. At Whimstay, we strive to support our property managers and ensure a seamless hosting experience.
We reached out to you via email to address the issues you encountered and would like to reiterate our commitment to resolving them. Our internal investigation revealed that the guest in question was a repeat customer, and we had no prior indications that would have disqualified him from booking through our platform again.
To address your concerns, we have taken the following steps:

We value your partnership and are dedicated to ensuring that your experience with Whimstay reflects our high standards of service. We hope to hear from you soon in response to our email.
