2 stars not because of the tech or design or usability. Those were great, loved how easy it was to make a video. 2 stars because of the dark pattern inherent in making the video. I spent hours creating a video, pulling in stock photos and videos and things, with no clear warning that I would have to pay extra to use those elements. It wasn’t until the project was finished when I hit publish did you tell me, and the forced my hand to pay for these elements at 3x my original cost. I made this video for my wife’s birthday party last night and had no other choice but to pay the extra money given the time I had. It’s quite deceptive of WeVideo to create such a “gotcha” kind of experience. Your product is great, but your monetization strategy is unethical.

I asked just ONE question about being refunded for a big charge that I wasn't expecting due to not realizing that I was being charged annually instead of monthly. This is literally one week before Christmas, and I am now down to nothing and I still have Christmas shopping to do. When I asked about switching to a monthly charged, I was given a super long email about all the choices I made, all the agreements I agreed to, and had I not done this mistake or that mistake, they would have possibly given me a refund, but now that I made those mistakes, they wouldn't be refunding me. They acted like I was going after them with legal threats or something! The customer service rep totally unloaded all her frustrations and was very unprofessional. When I responded asking for a little respect, I got no response. Guess what, I would've been fine with being told that I couldn't be refunded without the drama from Wevideo rep. Totally fed up with the attitude from them.

I got WeVideo through my school and It's pretty alright. The library is pretty good, with video clips and pictures of basically anything you can think of. WeVideo is good for schools or anyone looking to see if they like editing, although for more complex edits I wouldn't use it. I've tried to use WeVideo for cutting down and subtitling a video, and the text seemed very limited. I was able to make the stationary text work, but it would be nice to have more options on the different styles of text and different ways to use it and it would definitely improve my rating. It's pretty expensive for what it offers and if my school didn't pay for it, I would have probably gone and bought another software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Filmora.

The pricing on WeVideo is not very affordable. For users that just want a free decent video editor, WeVideo just won't work for them. Its 5 min limit per month, 480p max export, and a obstructive watermark all combine for a low value product. Competing products have better limits, such as 720p export, and 30 minute limit/video. Altough if you're willing to pay for it, it is a somewhat decent editor, but even if you pay for it, it's still not on par with other competitors.

The product is great to use, but the limitation of space for uploading just made it not a viable option for me as a teacher who was giving students my access due to Department protocols with not being able to allow students to create their own accounts.

Plus: The app is easy to use. Cons: 1. Price is way to high. You can buy an app for under $50 with similar features or get the best software Adobe for the same money and you must upgrade to do any real edits. 2. Uploads and downloads take forever especially if you don't have super high speed internet. 3. Download errors are not uncommon. 4. I get copyright problems if I don't download directly into YouTube and you don't want to do that to sharebon social Media. Facebook doesn't like YouTube. Overall you can find equal apps for much less. I paid a year in advance to save money and requested to cancel within 24 hours and they wouldn't help. I did my first video 3 x before it worked. They said it was my browser. Avoid this company.

While it is nice to up load and not have to use all your storage on your computer do your self favor and just buy a hardrive the software in my MacBook is way better and can auto correct colors should have just got monthly to see it work don’t buy unless you don’t have a good computer cause the real nice part you can use it on any time of device even your phone

It's somewhat good, but the mobile app is lacking. Too basic, and most features are only available via PC and a subscription plan. If you really like WeVideo paid, go ahead and use it. If you just want a good editor for free look elsewhere, most features are paywalled, and the limit is 5 mins a month. The free plan is only for your first taste anyways. The mobile app however is not very good. More limited than the free plan on desktop. There is a subscription plan to make it as powerful as the main editor.
