We've contracted with around 65,000 different retail pharmacy locations, so it's understandable that every now and again you might encounter a pharmacist in one of those locations who's not familiar with the program (especially if they're new). We're THRILLED to know that our free ScriptSave WellRx program was able to help you save! We try to operate on a "no harm, no foul" basis. We don't charge patients any fees to use the program, and we publish all the prices we've negotiated (every drug, every pharmacy) on our website - making them fully accessible at no cost and without the need to provide any personal data. As such, we leave it up each individual patient to determine whether or not they think we can be helpful to them. And, because there's no limit on how much or little you can use the program, you're most welcome to dip in-and-out as it suits you. If we can help (even if just a little), GREAT. If not, no hard feelings ... and, in this case, it sounds like we were able help - AWESOME :) BTW, if you didn't already notice the "Price-drop Alert" feature of the ScriptSave WellRx program, you may like to check it out. In a nutshell, it allows you to get an automated alert from us anytime we negotiate a new price for a specific drug (at the pharmacies near you) that's lower than what you're currently paying. You can set up free price-drop alerts from the price-check page for each specific drug that you need. Fingers crossed that, if we're able to continue helping you save with our free program (even if only a little), we'll be able to earn a 5-star review from you in the future.

If you're refilling any of those meds next month, having a quick read of the "Hints/Tips" guide that's published at the link pasted below might help ensure you don't encounter similar hiccups. We wrote this guide to help ensure our members don't get that "bad taste in their month" that you referenced. In fact, the very first sentence outlines precisely the issue that you described. Such is the importance of the info in this article, and the importance we place on helping to ensure our members get the best experience possible (even though we're basically a free "no-harm, no-foul" program), that we send this out to everyone who signs up for the program. There can be a few reasons for that, Beth. We do our best to draw attention to them through our website and in our Welcome emails to new members. Needless to say, the last thing we want is for patients to get a shock at the pharmacy, so it's definitely important to be aware that prices for prescription meds tend to be very volatile (changing far more frequently that most patients realize). Thanks for finding the ScriptSave WellRx prescription saving program, Karen. There are certainly some pharmacies that made it their policy not to allow cash discounts for opioid prescriptions - however, this is not the case for all (so you can still use your free ScriptSave WellRx card to help with the out-of-pocket cost). We've shared some more info about where restrictions will apply; see the links pasted below (the first one pertains specifically to Walmart's policy). It's certainly important to understand how the ScriptSave WellRx program works - many thanks, Mike, for taking a few minutes to help shine a spotlight on the fact that we're definitely not an insurance plan (nor are we designed to be a replacement for insurance). For patients with a Medicare plan, although we actively encourage them to double-check the cash-prices that we've negotiated by visiting the ScriptSave WellRx website, it makes sense that they will often find their funded Medicare plan to provide lower rates than our free savings program. However, most folks tend to agree that it's helpful/reassuring to use ScriptSave WellRx for a 'second opinion' (just in case there's a non-covered medication or a ridiculously high copay under the heathplan). We're negotiating new rates across our network of 65,000 partner pharmacies every day ... so fingers crossed that, if there's a next time, we'll be able to earn an upgrade from a 3-star review to a 5-star review (our staff just take it too personally when they see anything less).
