Fantastic community, I am no longer in the CRE industry, full time in residential real estate. WSO is a fantastic community that I am still a part of but not as active anymore. Would be great if there was a lending side to the platform where we could get some useful information from lenders within the industry such as shadow inventory impacting the residential markets from a corporate lending point of view. I had a client who part of strategic debt at Chase during the 2008 collapse, it would be interesting to expand the WSO platform to incorporate a bit of residential RE considering most realtors are absolute morons from my experience. Great site to allow prospects a view into a insular world of finance. This site breaks down information barriers and helps balance the power structure between the employer and junior employee. Also allows those in the community a valuable space to blow off steam and commiserate.

WSO is the go-to place for anyone in the finance community to chat about industry trends, compensation, recruiting, or anything related to the banking or private equity community. There is no online community with the number of users or amount of quality content of the finance industry that compares to WSO. I love it!

WSO offers an invaluable help for recent graduates and young professionals willing to understand, learn and break into high finance roles. It’s impressive the capability it had to attract senior professionals willing to give back and help. Having successfully moved from IB to PE and raised to a near-to-partner level, I personally feel less interest in participating to the community, especially because of the strong focus on early phase of finance careers. Strongly recommended to anybody seeking to understand how to get into this world.
