Best of Venice - Tour of Doge's Palace
Our tour was two parts: Doge's Palace and a private boat ride to Murano. The Doge's Palace was so interesting, well worth it, and our Guide, Fillipo was fantastic. He was really well versed in Venice's history and injected good humour. After we took a private boat to Murano with a different guide, Alessia, which was nice but at the glass blowing factory, we had to wait to get in and then we had a very, very short glass blowing demonstration and were then escorted upstairs to look at very expensive glasswork to buy. We had very little time left over to check out much else on the island, save for a short time to look in some gift shops and then were taken back on the boat. We had hoped for more time on Murano to look around and the demonstration was really short.
Response from Walks of ItalyJan 9, 2026
We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the second half of your day. While we are glad you enjoyed the private boat ride with Alessia, we are sorry to hear that the time on Murano felt rushed. We aim to provide a meaningful look at the tradition of Venetian glassmaking, but it sounds like the balance between the demonstration and your free time to explore the island wasn't quite right on this occasion. Your comments about the length of the demonstration and the desire for more time to walk around Murano are very helpful. We will share this with our team and our partners on the island to ensure we are providing the best possible experience for our guests. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for another tour in the future. Kind Regards Walks and Devour Feedback Team
