Often fluff over functionality. Updates on UI which are mostly pointless (the current admin pages are more difficult to use than they were before they changed them...but they look more slick) while functions that should be fixed go unaddressed. Support says, "We're aware of it and the development team is looking at it" and months pass without a fix. Been promising a major update for years which never seems to happen somehow. Frankly if it weren't for the number of work hours it would take, we'd have switched to Shopify two years ago.
It's a shame. When we signed up with them they had features nobody else had. In the years since they have changed very little while the others have surged ahead.

Not happy with what I’m paying for …
Not happy with what I’m paying for every month. After spending over a month setting up and listing my products I found out that for the plan I am paying for every month I’m 1. Only allowed 100 product listings and 2. I have to purchase and spend more every month to put an SSL certificate on my site. For the same price I pay currently, Shopify offers more than 100 listings and includes the SSL certificate. If I had known this I would have gone to Shopify to begin with and I am currently moving off of volusion to Shopify.

Too expensive for service received.
Volusion personnel were very polite and helpful; however, the cost for the services provided were too expensive for a small business like mine. Wix only charges $149.00 per year for their site and domain name. In addition, there is a $79.00 charge per year for a storefront. It is easy to navigate, add content and publish.

Not very happy
Ever since they have changed their format it is harder to read the screen and it takes forever to enter data. It takes me twice as long, which in a business sense time is money. I now have 3 extra steps in one transaction. The color blue they have chosen for a background is hard to see what you are doing.

The 'Overages' are killing us
We have 2 small home businesses that both have websites with Volusion. Our first business is 'startup' cleaning product business that sells products online. To be honest, we're quite happy with how this is all working out on Volusion and are comfortable with the monthly charges.
Our second, more recent business is a wedding gown brand import business. It does have a website, but only to display the gowns we import, not for online purchase. As you can imagine, images are the most important part of this site and unfortunately, they use considerably more bandwidth. For the first 10 months we were happily ticking along with the site and around September upgraded our Volusion package as we'd hit the 'allowed number of products' ceiling. Towards the end of November we got a billing notice for overages in February! Apparently, the package we were on then only allowed us 3Gb of 'usage' and we were over that [Had I known back in February, I would have upgraded to the hight bandwidth option then], the next day we got one for March, then the next day for April and so on. By day 7, we had been billed more than a $1500 for overages.
November I upgraded to the premium package at great expense, but the bills kept coming around $350 a pop. After a few email discussions, the erroneous overages for Oct, Nov & Dec were waived, but my point is, this website has cost me more than double what it should have this year, which could have been avoided if I'd received the billing notices at the correct time and not 10 months later.
I was pleased that Volusion did make efforts to sort out the issue, but I'm still unhappy with the costs we've incurred this year and although I don't really don't have time, I'm going to have to look for a more cost effect solution for our websites.

Titling a review is silly
The program is fine especially for someone who isn't computer savvy
Frustrations with the program though
1. The date to show a product shouldn't have to be reset each year - it's a waste of time. If it's from October to November one year, it should automatically reappear the following year without having to reset it.
2. The weights of products need to be adjusted to keep up with shipping products. Don't like losing money on shipping.
3. We offer pick up as well as shipping, one should be able to hit complete for pick up, not just shipping.
