Don’t waste your money. I just received my “report” which was vague at best (and flat out wrong in some instances). The diet section basically just tells you that you may have certain things (lactose intolerance) based on your genetics. Then it gives you a list of genes with zero explanation. Totally pointless.
I thought the exercise section would give me some advice ln what types of activities would be best for me. Instead, it took the activities I said I enjoyed and came up with a “plan” for me (which is what I already do).
I did a food allergy test a few years ago and it was very specific. I thought this was going to be similar, but it literally told me nothing I don’t already know. Thanks to other reviews, I will not be purchasing any supplements from this company, it sounds like that is a total nightmare.
Save your money (or buy a more reputable ancestry kit if interested in that).

Totally disapointed
I am one more person totally disappointed with this test.
I agree with mostly all of the people placing a review: vague and inaccurate ancestry trace, wrong advice regarding nutrition, and just a way to sell expensive vitamins

Diet report
I am extremely disappointed in the report. It was very vague and did not give me specific ways to help my diet and health. The report could have been given to anyone. I was expecting much more for what I paid for. It is just a way for them to sell their vitamins.

DON'T BUY THAT !!!
DON'T BUY THAT !!!
I got the test kit in 2 weeks okay that was good!
Since then
I cannot create an account on their vitagene activation website
I cannot add my test ...it says 'incorrect kid ID' and 'valid Kit ID at the same time.
I cannot sign in
Support is not reachable via inbox mail ... no support email address ... no support call line.
I tried 10 times to create an account and activate the kid ID. I does not work... and I am familiar with IT challenges.
DO NOT BUY the Vitagene product.

Don’t buy from these crooks at Vitagene!
Terrible people and company, don’t buy from these crooks! Kit never arrived, now 14 days after order, and they are refusing to process a refund for a product never received and a test they never even ran. Had to file a dispute with my credit card company. What a terrible company!

Don't do it
Don't do it! I ordered saliva kit for Corona virus from them because I heard the saliva kit was more accurate. Ordered my kit and received it. The instructions were good and it was easy. Sent it off and waited 3 days and got my results as inconclusive. We recommend you get tested again. There could be many reasons for this. A faulty kit or user error. All you do is spit into a tube. It isn't hard so my guess it was a faulty kit. I wrote an email to them and got the same canned response as in the original email. They never even offered to send me another kit. So I went and got tested and I did have it, but wasted a little over a week dealing with this poor excuse for a company. If you just want to lighten your wallet $120 then by all means order from them.

Absolutely Disappointing
Would not recommend this at all. I’m am very aware of my ancestry and can trace both my mom and dads family line back to 1066AD. I know my blood and my parents took the National Geographic blood tests that are extremely accurate. I got this test because dietary part of it, but looked at my ancestry to see what I got from my mom and what I got from my dad. It showed I was 99% British >1% South American >1% Pacific Islander. First of all, this is extremely broad, it doesn’t pinpoint any specific areas. Secondly, I know for a fact I’m not South American or Pacific Islander. Thirdly, I’m only half white. My mom has zero British blood in her. She is mostly Turkish, Armenian, and Iranian. Nothing from my mother showed up at all. Not even less than 1 percent. Nothing. You might say, or you’re adopted. I look exactly like my mother. Also all the health information was just parroted back from the questionnaire you have to take. Absolutely disappointing.
Response from VitageneMay 5, 2020
Hello Adrienne,
We at Vitagene are sorry to see you are unhappy with the autosomal DNA reports you were provided and wanted to reach out to provide you with more information about how the complementary Ancestry Report that we gift people who purchase our Health Test, works. Our ancestry report, reports on the industry standard for non-genealogy based ancestry reports by splitting the planet into 24 regions going back 1,000 years which might be why the report is reporting things that are different from what recent ancestors and living revives have verbally reported. We give you a percentage breakdown of what ancestral DNA you inherited from those regions and what countries each region includes. We do not report on geopolitical borders because over time countries change their names, borders, etc and that man made information is not recorded in your DNA. If you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask. Please note that the questionnaire is not used in the anyway when reporting genetic traits or ancestry, it is only used in the diet report, exercise report and supplement report as there are things we can not detect with autosomal DNA testing like a peanut allergy or, if someone is a vegetarian.
You purchased health reporting from Vitagene instead of genealogy reporting but you can still receive a genealogy report from the raw DNA file Vitagene has provided for you if that is what you were expecting to receive. This can be obtained by uploading the file to a genealogy based company like MyHeritage.com. Feel free to ask for our help by emailing us at [email protected] if you have any questions or need any assistance. We will be happy to help you in any way that is possible.
