I got screwed on this deal too. Didn't pay enough attention to the site, thought I was dealing with a gov site. Lost $148, thankfully it wasn't more.

En réalité, il ne s’agit pas du site officiel, mais d’une société privée qui propose un prétendu service d’accompagnement facturé au même prix que le visa lui-même. Leur méthode est particulièrement trompeuse : ils jouent subtilement sur les mots et la présentation, ce qui peut facilement induire en erreur même les personnes attentives dans leurs démarches. J’étais en totale confiance car je me trouvais sur un site officiel, et c’est précisément ce qui rend cette escroquerie encore plus grave.

I (accidentally) applied through GovAssist to have my passport renewed and was told it would take 4-8 weeks, It is now week 10 and, in spite of numerous phone calls and efforts to get a status update, I have heard nothing from the company. I am only left to assume that this is a scam.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE A SCAM!!! I wanted to renew my passport for $157. Their website makes you think you are dealing with the government. They sent me printed forms that I filled out online but AI said my picture was not acceptable. ( my photo was done at CVS pharmacy which is acceptable). I called this company up and got an AI asked them to transfer me to a live person but never was able to reach one. Their AI said I would get a refund but I never received it. I called back a week later and AI informed me that I was not going to receive a refund because they completed my kit. I am furious! There is no kit just a couple of printed documents that I filled out online. I will be disputing the charges with my bank. Best part is they wanted another $160 to get my passport when that’s what I thought I was doing all along!

If I could give zero stars, I would. You can't even get a real agent on the phone for support like they advertise. I think it's actually costing me more money and time than if I'd just gone to the post office. Absolutely awful!!!!!

I tried to use GOVASSIST.COM to request a passport renewal. The web site implied that it would be quicker and easier than renewing by mail. It was not quick or easy. The first problem was that the AI that accepts a digital passport photo kept rejecting my photos. I wasted more than an hour trying to get it to accept my photos. It finally accepted a poor photo. I requested help to use a good photo. A person responded by email, and I ended up sending in the first photo that was repeatedly rejected. Then, I was asked to review my application for errors. I found several, including 1) the status was "Cancel Application", and 2) the amount billed was significantly larger than the prices on the web site. I promptly responded, describing the problems and asking for an explanation why the billed amount was higher than the prices on the web site. When they did not respond, I requested that the application be canceled. The amount was never justified, but ACCESS.GOV submitted the charge to my credit card, although I had not agreed to this charge. Now they are refusing to refund the charge, although they have done nothing to submit my passport renewal, as far as I can tell. I have disputed the change with my credit card company. I will see what happens.
