Extremely Unfair and Out of Touch: Demanding $1,500 from a Small Creator with $100 Earnings!
I am deeply disappointed and shocked by the completely unreasonable and aggressive business practices of ViralHog. I run a newly monetized compilation channel, and I have always sourced my clips from open social media and public platforms, where their viral videos are widely reshared by third parties without any watermarks, logos, or text attribution. Because I filter through hundreds of public clips daily, a total of just 5 to 6 short ViralHog clips accidentally ended up in my videos entirely without my knowledge. I respect copyright policies, and if I had known they were copyrighted, I would never have used a single second of them. Instead of working with small creators or offering a reasonable solution, ViralHog immediately slapped my channel with two copyright strikes without any warning. Even worse, their legal team demanded a massive $1,500 cash settlement from me! To put this into perspective, my entire channel’s lifetime earnings are exactly $100. In my country (Pakistan), $1,500 is over 400,000 PKR—enough money to buy a tractor, purchase livestock, or launch a physical business. Demanding fifteen times more than what my entire channel has ever made for just 5 to 6 accidental clips is completely unfair, greedy, and out of touch with reality. To save my other linked channels from their automated third strike, I had no choice but to delete all the videos I spent months scriptwriting, editing, and growing. They try to bully creators into paying exorbitant fees or locking themselves into unfair 40% revenue-share agreements with networks like CollabDRM [collabdrm.com]. I will never recommend working with ViralHog. They do not support creators; they exploit them.
