I really like the product
I really like the product, it leaves my hair very clean, soft and conditioned without feeling slippery. It never gets oily in between washings, and my flaky scalp has completely cleared up. Don't forget that this company is still very much "for profit" and I suggest you read this article by Melissa Chan, "Viori Beauty — Cultural Appropriation in The Name of White Saviorism" I'm not sure how much the Red Yao tribe needs help (interference?) from Lynsie Galbraith, but they certainly deserve credit and recognition. This doesn't detract from the fact that I find the product excellent, I like the little "bamboo steamers" as it keeps the cakes dry between use. I've never used a cake shampoo before and was searching for something with less plastic packaging and I am extremely happy with my purchase. It works great on my long, coloured and over-50 hair.

As our Co-Owner, Lynsie Galbraith, responded back to Melissa Chan's article saying she knew she wanted to "create a source of revenue if I really wanted to help them (The Red Yao) and make a difference in their community. So, with the help of 8 others, Viori was created with the main purpose of generating money to give back to this tribe in need." As most businesses are, we are a for-profit company, however with that profit 5% goes back to the Red Yao.
