In 2005 through 2009 I was employed with a company based out of Virginia. In 2007 the company had fallen behind on their federal employment taxes exceeding $1M. In 2008-2009 I had a surgery that went awry and spent 43 days in ICU and had 18 follow-up surgeries. During this time the company had pointed the finger towards me and the IRS held me as a liable party for over $500,000 in back taxes for the company debt. I never had an opportunity to even appeal the case due to my health. I had obtained legal counsel to appeal this case in 2010 and was told there was nothing that could be done.
