Thank you for this, and I’m sorry the glove tore. Gloves are the most delicate thing we make. The fingertips are the thinnest latex on any garment, and they’re where nearly every tear begins — dressing them dry, or catching a nail on the way in, will open a fingertip even on a first wear. It’s the one piece we always ask new customers to take slowly: plenty of talc or dressing aid inside, roll them on rather than pull, and never force a finger through. The part worth knowing is that a tear isn’t the end of a latex piece. We repair latex in our California studio — ours and other makers’ — and we sell a repair kit for small fixes at home.
