Price Gauging Vertex style...
One day before we were going to take a trip across 4 states..Vertex called us and told us that the price had went up. They had given us an estimate of about $545.00 with $150.00 deposit. It was a small car and we wanted it to be brought from California to Texas. On the day before we were going to start our travels, we get notified that the price is now $1,499.00. This is more than double the price we were quoted. Now I am aware that an estimate is just that...but in my 63 years on this earth, I have never had an estimate increase by more than $900.00. What could we do? We would have had to leave the car at someone's house and hopefully have someone pick up the car 2-3 days later. We were pushed up against the wall and had to pay $900.00 more. Moving is already expensive and to have Vertex gauge us at the last minute - what were we to do? There are better companies out there. If I was you I would pick anyone by Vertex.

Hi Cathy! We’re sorry to hear that you feel this way, and we’d like to clarify the timeline and circumstances of your shipment for accuracy. Your order was initially placed on March 16th with a requested pickup date of April 14th, which is nearly a month later. During that period, market conditions within the auto transport industry changed significantly, directly impacting carrier availability and pricing. Between mid-March and mid-April, there were notable fluctuations in fuel prices, as well as regulatory and operational changes affecting drivers. Industry-wide factors such as stricter enforcement measures, licensing challenges, and reduced driver availability led to fewer active carriers on the road. As a result, the remaining carriers began requesting higher compensation for long-distance routes, especially for cross-state shipments like California to Texas. These are external factors beyond any broker’s control and affect the entire transportation market. We would also like to clarify that at no point were you forced or pressured to proceed. The updated carrier price was communicated to you before dispatch, and we have records confirming that you acknowledged and agreed to move forward. If you had chosen not to proceed, the order could have been canceled. However, once you confirmed, we secured a driver in line with your schedule to ensure your vehicle was picked up on time. Despite our efforts to accommodate your timeline and secure a driver under challenging market conditions, we regret that this resulted in a negative experience from your perspective. Our intention throughout was to provide a solution that met your needs, not to create inconvenience. At Vertex Carship, we strive to be transparent and act in good faith with every customer. While we understand that price changes can be frustrating, they are sometimes unavoidable due to real-time market conditions. We stand by the fact that the service was provided with your full awareness and consent. Warm regards, Team Vertex Carship 📞 (929) 999-7901 | ✉️ [email protected]
