I appreciate that my tutor is patient and loves explaining concepts. I had a hard time grasping the work in the beginning, but she made it very easy for me. It would be helpful if there were programs like Veritas for other fields of study as well. Another exciting thing about this program is that opportunities like the Ladder internship are shared with the Veritas students.

It was hard to learn things virtually. I feel like the content was hard to understand because the mentors/teachers never really explained things thoroughly. The content was hard as well as the coding part of the summer camp. I think the mentors should have explained each code assignment in further detail. Instead of the teacher going over the code with us, our mentor asked us to share our screen and present the code ourselves. However, I feel this was not effective because sometimes the students did not explain what they did and WHY they did it. I think the teacher/mentor should be explaining it to us instead of the students trying to explain it to us. I understand the need for participation, especially because it was online, but I didn't appreciate the fact that I kept getting cold called on. Furthermore, I think the end project was a great idea, but I felt that I didn't have the tools I needed to be able to help my group. I liked that we had breaks so that we weren't working for a prolonged period of time. And I think all the staff were very nice and making the best out of the online situation.

The interactive and dynamic nature of the lessons made it very exciting.

The group project, which required me to develop a deep learning model to segment the left ventricle in heart images from the Sunnybrook Cardiac Data set, was one of the most notable aspects of the program. This project allowed me to apply my theoretical knowledge to a healthcare challenge, where I was required to calculate real clinical measures from my models and compare them to actual results. This kind of real-world experience was invaluable and allowed me to fully understand AI's potential in medicine, and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in this field.

If you're reading reviews here, you should probably just take the program. This program ignited my passion for AI studies, and I don't know what I'd be pursuing now, if it wasn't for this veritas. This program offers students a fantastic launchpad into the stratospheres of current technology of artificial intelligence. It's a lot like taking another class at school which reflects the revolutionary technology of AI. Unless you're writing a paper or some sort of research equivalent(highly recommend), there is little extracurricular work. I'd like to highlight a key difference between a high school class and this program. The staff at Veritas AI are all brilliant. They're flexible, understanding, and passionate about showing people that they're able to design and manipulate concepts you'd read about in complex academic papers easily. Perhaps most importantly, they care about where you're at and personally making sure you're never too far behind. What's more than that is the culture of discussion and collaboration the staff have cultivated in each of their programs. The emphasis on the sharing of differing ideas and critical thinking is another hallmark of this impressive and comprehensive program. I took the scholars and fellowship program and got published. Thing is, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, and you don't have to be. You're surrounded by brilliant people who would love to help you achieve something great.

My experience participating in the Veritas AI Scholars Course was extremely productive and offered me a chance to explore a new topic that I had no prior knowledge on. The sessions were informative, interactive, and stimulating and the teachers were extremely helpful and new the subject in depth.
