Unacceptable treatment.
The doctor and the staff that works with every patient is extremely good , patient, professional and very accommodating. On the other hand on my second visit, they did my scan for both my legs, the front desk staff should have reminded me if I wanted a prescription or if I wanted to buy the stockings there, which are $110. Not having been reminded on my second visit that I needed to have the stockings after my first procedure, the front desk staff gave me the stockings. I felt very embarrassed in front of some patients that were in the office because I told the front desk staff I didn't have the money, as I live on a social security check, for the next visit I was also asked when I was going to pay for my stocking so I informed them that I didn't have any money, untill my social security check came in, that was also very very embarrassing. I'm a 64 year old senior. I felt forced to take them, that they would put them on my account, when I called my insurance they said they would pay for them if the doctor stated it was medically necessary, I told the front office staff and they said I had to pay for them. I took them back on the next visit, because during the last procedure, my legs were in pain due to my stockings rolling down to my ankles, having said that, I went back and told the front desk staff, they said they could not take them back, I threw them away in front of them, they gave me a second pair but they said they could not give me a second pair without me paying for them, so I did pay for them, when I should have not paid for them and asked for a prescription, when I told the doctor to give me a prescription he said, the front desk staff will give you a new pair, then they measured me for my stockings, they never measured me for my stockings for the first pair, and to this day they still roll down to my ankles. Today November 21st 2017 I went into the office and I told the doctor that my stockings were rolling down to my ankles, and I wanted my monies returned, so the doctor advised me to apply alcohol to the rubber band, the stockings continue to roll down to my ankles . I told the doctor that I wanted my money back, they totally ignored my request. I'm very dissatisfied to say the least to go to a clinic, and to have to pay for something that is supposed to help after a procedure and the stockings are not doing the job. I could have gotten a prescription and my insurance would have paid for them, totally unacceptable. I have had to borrow my aunt's compression stockings and they don't roll down. I believe that the brand of stockings that The Vein Clinics of America are selling are not that dependable. I don't know what else to say, I told the doctor, he said to tell the front desk staff, the front desk staff was not very helpful the first time I told them about my stockings rolling down to my ankles, and they replied, I quote: " well if you don't pay for them they're going to send you to the credit bureau " that's how helpful they were. Now I'm stuck with stockings that cost me $110 and they don't even do the job they're supposed to do. Whom do I have to contact to get my monies returned? I don't think I will be recommending anybody else to that clinic in Fairfield Connecticut.
