Think very carefully before signing a contract with Vanta Our experience with Vanta has been deeply disappointing, not necessarily because of the platform itself, but because of the way our contractual concerns were handled. We signed up with the intention of working towards ISO 27001 certification. Unfortunately, we never ended up using the platform. When it became clear that the subscription was not working for our business, we contacted Vanta to request early termination. We explained our circumstances and tried to find a reasonable resolution. Despite escalating our concerns, including writing to the CEO, there was no willingness to accommodate our request. We remained responsible for the contractual payments, even though we were not using the service. I understand that a signed contract creates obligations. However, I also believe that good customer relationships involve understanding circumstances, listening to concerns and demonstrating some flexibility when things do not work out. What disappointed me most was the apparent lack of interest in finding a reasonable solution. From our perspective, enforcing payment obligations seemed to take priority over customer satisfaction and retention. Thankfully, we had not committed to a three-year agreement, and our subscription has now ended. We have chosen not to renew. My advice to any business considering Vanta is to read the contract extremely carefully, particularly the minimum commitment, early termination and renewal clauses. Make absolutely sure you have the internal resources and capacity to implement the platform before signing. Do not assume that limited or no usage will provide grounds for early termination. I cannot comment on the platform’s technical effectiveness because we did not use it. My review is specifically about our experience of the contractual relationship and customer service. For a company operating in the trust and compliance industry, I would have expected a much more customer-focused approach.
