I am a 87 year old 100% disabled veteran. i contacted Value Added Moving supposedly a Veteran run company. I was moving my handicapped daughter from Utah to Pennsylvania. they gave me a great quote even deducting 1k for my veteran status. Moving day a rental truck shows up from farmed out company called Rapid Express moving and Storage. They procededed to load the truck. My daughter called me and stated that the boxes far exceded number to be shipped. foreman wanted $1800.00 cash to continue loading. I got him the cash. Sunday morning i get a phone call from Rapid stating that i had to pay $4300.00 at delivery. I blew my top . This is fraud! we settled on $3500.00 which was rediculous. they held my daughters belongings hostage. Delivery day two days late. A different truck arrives driver wants $3800.00 what the hell! got it straightend out. To my daughters horror box after box crushed broken open bed frame broken etc.. So i was way over charged and her stuff destroyed. the DOT fraud dept told me to take them to small claims court. Why is the DOT allowing this fraud to go on with out any penalties?

Offered a nice rate after they got 2250 in deposit they wanted 12000 instead of 4500. The wouldn't cancel or refund me my deposit.

I used a broker who hired Value Added Moving. I gave a complete inventory of every items in my storage locker. I was going to be at the arriving locker the next day. It was an interstate move. the morning of the move they claimed I now owed double my original quote because there was more stuff even though I provided a complete list of everything in the locker and there wasn't "more stuff" . Well I don't have double and now they are telling me if I dont zelle them right away the move is off so I cancelled the move. I said I can't pay that. The items were NOT loaded in the truck at this time. I called the storage locker to find out if they left my locker open and my stuff laying around and they informed me they movers took all my possesions even after I cancelled the move. Now they have my belongings and are refusing delivery until I pay the increased price. They claim they will charge me storage until I pay. I already cancelled with them and they took my belongings anyway. I said I would not pay anything until my items were delivered in good condition. I cancelled the move they shouldnt even have my belongings. They are holding them hostage until I pay an amount I never agreed to. They were abusive and threatening, cursed at me, removed my items without permission and told me to call the police. Do not use them. I assume my items are gone forever because I dont have the money they are even asking for. I was reassured by the sales man this would be fine when I booked but then when I called him after they removed my stuff he became abusive.

These people are thieves. They claim to have a 72 hour policy to cancel and if you do not they will keep your deposit. I had a deposit of $1,078 and they are keeping it. Terrible company, do not use their services. Very unprofessional, for example they will not call you or communicate with you to meet the 72 hours and yes, they will throw that policy in your face without care.

The old bait and switch. Quote for one price based off good faith conversation of items and now they want $4000 more. What a joke. Also they said 50% due on pick up after deposit and 50% on drop off but now it’s 60/40. DONT TRUST THEM!

This company ripped me off!!! I gave them a itemized list of all the contents in my 3 bedroom house in Florida. It was to be taken to Long Island NY. All there is in house is small bit of furniture. I was quoted $2,200. Great!! No problem needed to esign documents stating you have 72 hrs to cancel to get refund. I did this on 04/23/2026. They promised me I was locked in n price wouldn't change. I told them how I am a 100% disabled veteran who was injured in line of duty. The emphasized how there a military family run business and take care of there veterans. BULLSHIT!!! They called me today 3 days before my move to go over my list. I gave them same exact list. There's only so many pieces of furniture in this house nothing extra. Lady said this is a different list than she has. And then continued with your cost of move is additional $6,000. I said WTF!!! YOU GUYS ARE SCAMMING ME!!! I asked for refund n sent letter n they said NO its past 72 hrs!!! They are a terrible company to do business with and this cant be legal in any way shape or form. They took advantage n robbed a 100% disabled veteran. Im now getting a POD for $ 3,000. Lost my $ with VALUE ADDED MOVING!! PLEASE LEARN FROM ME THEY ARE THIEVES N WILL ROB YOU TOO!!!

I don’t know how or if this is a real company, but they essentially held all my possessions hostage until they ended up forcing 3.5x the agreed-upon quote and charged an extra $700 the weekend before delivery on top of the over inflated payments. Essentially bankrupt me on a move back to the Midwest to save money. It is fraud and robbery, will be reporting to every agency I can find to get my money back.

If I could give a zero I would. I spoke to won't say name and was told since I have storage said I could have 40 boxes and 30 containers of which whatever was less I could apply to the other. I was quoted 1289.00 deposit and when the truck comes I would just pay 589.00 then upon delivery the balance of 589.00 . If I needed to add to this call which I did and gave an additional 503.00 but still would only pay 589. 00 pick up and 589.00 delivery. When the truck came they wanted an additional 2700 and then on delivery the balance of 4106.00 Now mind you only had a total of 700 cubic feet of stuff they charged me 6400.00. Made several calls about this no response , same excuses over and over. Been a month still no delivery and was lied about that as well. Working with a company before and have dealt with I contacted Consumer Protection which gave me the FMCSA I contacted them and DACS filled out complaint and they have forwarded it to the US Department of Transportation which documents were attached. I have a case number so waiting for response and phone call for deceptive practice and bait and switch.
