Absolute scam. On day of pickup this man in an unmarked moving truck who didn't work for added value and was contracted took a video of all my stuff and came back with me saying I owed double what I originally paid added value because I had a lot of stuff. So I was basically paying him and his guys while added value got their cut. This guy kept lowering the price when I got angry because he called his boss for a discount. I called added value and said that they estimated a small space for my stuff when I gave them the box count and item count. I said there was no way 300cf was going to fit and I don't know what 300cf amount looks like, but as a moving company you should know and plan accordingly. The lady on the phone yelled at me and said it's my fault for not paying attention. I could tell she was used these calls because it was like debating a lawyer. I even had other family yelling at her on the phone and my family doesn't yell at all. We were all furious. I cancelled the move but the truck wouldn't leave the street for over an hour. They kept knocking on the door and calling my phone to try to take my stuff and pay them. Eventually they left when added value told them to leave upon my request. But added value also called me from Minnesota, Seattle and other states. Their numbers are all over. So I took a loss on the deposit as per their policy. But at least I wasn't scammed more for moving my things. Because if the "estimate" as they called it wasn't a guarantee price. Who's not to say they won't charge me again to unload my stuff upon delivery? And with different drivers too. Not trying to be rude at all. But they were foreigners too from the East of the world I'll say. And English is not their first language. So I'm going to move myself and rent a truck because I won't be scammed twice. Update: I wrote this review and on the email it said, "Added Value Moving". But they wrote me back using another company name and said, "I emailed the wrong company". Otherwords they don't take accountability for their company. Pretend to be someone else and never fix their wrongs.

After shopping for a quote and the hard sales push my wife requested a day to confirm plans and commit. We received a very unprofessional text message from Jakob White the Senior Relocation Specialist being very rude an disrespectful to her. We checked TrustPilot which shows 100's of negative reviews, over 80% are a 1 star and they have been sanctioned for posting false positive reviews. Do your homework. I would prefer to spend a couple thousand more than have our family have to be treated like that. They would get zero stars but it wont let you give less than a 1 star.

Awful experience. I was told i was getting 90 days of free storage but when i got billed it wasn’t included. When i called to speak to someone they wouldn’t help me or let me speak to a supervisor. When i asked for the recordings of all my calls they said the calls weren’t recorded even though every call plays a recording message every time. I was quoted as $7000 total and needing a small truck; then i read about the truck size and it was recommended for a 1.5 bedroom not a 3 bedroom house. They intentionally low ball to hike up the rates

If I could give this company a rating of negative 1, I would. This company is a scam. I had several conversations with the agent and signed a contract for around $3000. I gave him an itemized list of all the things I'm bringing with me. Several days before the move, I get a phone call and I am told, I have to pay an additional $400 because I'm bringing more boxes than I originally signed in my contract. I pay the additional $400, even though I disagree with it. Then, I get scheduled for a 2 PM pickup. Around 5:30 PM, I receive a call saying the truck broke down and they won't arrive until 8 PM. Even though I try to reschedule, they tell me they can't. I wait until well after 10:30 PM before the drivers finally show up, only to tell me that I only purchased 300 cubic feet and I really need 650 cubic feet. I explained to them that this was never discussed, and that they have an itemized list of all the things that I am bringing with me. So they know how much space I need and how much space I paid for. Nevertheless, they tell me I have to pay them an additional $4000 on top of the $2400 I already paid. They also told me I would not get a refund. Now I'm stuck without a mover and need to get out of the house ASAP. This is this company's pattern of operation. This is intentional and predatory practice. And this is a scam.

My experience during the week of my move has been extremely frustrating and unacceptable. The issues began with my initial conversation with Jakob White, who quoted me $2,500 for the move. I specifically asked whether the movers would pack my items for me. He told me yes. However, when I received the contract and signed it, I noticed it stated that the company does not pack customers’ belongings. I immediately called Jakob again to verify whether the movers would pack my dishes and hanging clothes. He reassured me that they would, and even stated that the movers would have boxes on the truck to pack my items. Fast forward to the week of my move: I received a call from the quality team to verify my inventory. I asked again whether the movers would be packing my items, and she told me no, that I would need to pack everything myself. She then asked how many boxes I would be bringing on the truck. At that moment, I didn’t know the exact number, so I estimated — and because of that estimate, I was charged an additional $600. The day of the move, Friday between 8am to 2pm I received a call from the movers at 12 PM saying there was an issue with the truck and they would be running late. By 3 PM, I still had not heard anything, so I emailed customer service. Their only response was that they were “looking to obtain an ETA.” I have another issue with the moving date but I will not get into it. At this point, it feels clear that this company does not value its customers. The communication has been inconsistent, misleading, and unprofessional at every step. Be warned. This company is plain fraud. They took my money and frustrated my life. I had to get another company 24hrs to d-day. They are refusing to refund claiming they showed up and I refused thier service. They will take your deposit, frustrate you with lack of communication and updates and rent a Penske truck for a few hours at a fraction of your deposit, knowing you have lost confidence in them due to frustration. Then they will then claim you refused their service. Stay away from them unless you want to lose your deposit. FRAUD ALERT!!!

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, and I strongly recommend avoiding this company. I hired Value Added Moving to coordinate a move from Chicago to Miami for my wedding décor and flowers. During my initial conversation with salesperson Aiden, I clearly explained that my shipment needed to arrive by June 9 for my wedding. He assured me this would not be a problem, especially since pickup was scheduled two weeks in advance. What was never explained was that Value Added Moving is a broker that outsources moves to third-party carriers. After pickup, the carrier, Unlimited Moving, also assured me my shipment would arrive on time. Days later, I received an email stating delivery could occur 5–14 business days after my requested date. Concerned, I contacted Value Added Moving and spoke with Shai, who reassured me my requested date was documented and should not be an issue. She contacted the carrier, who replied they would “do their best.” June 9 came and went with no delivery. I repeatedly called Unlimited Moving and received no response. I then spoke with Shannon, a dispatch supervisor at Value Added Moving, who claimed the shipment was in transit but could not provide a delivery date. The next day, after still receiving no answers, my wife located a local number for Unlimited Moving. To our shock, they informed us that our shipment had never left Chicago. We were then told that if we wanted the shipment before our wedding, we would need to pay an additional $3,000. With no other option, we paid. The shipment finally arrived the day before our wedding. Throughout this ordeal, Value Added Moving never proactively contacted us, never provided accurate information, and never accepted responsibility. Their sales process is misleading, communication is poor, and delivery promises are unreliable. Customers deserve transparency about brokerage arrangements and realistic delivery expectations. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Never again.

I found Value-Added Movers through a Facebook advertisement that promoted affordable moving services and savings. After speaking with a representative named Alexis, I provided a complete inventory of everything I needed moved and received a quote of approximately $4,000. Wanting to avoid any surprises, I called back before my move and added even more items to my inventory. I was given an updated estimate and paid an additional deposit because I believed everything had been fully disclosed. On moving day, I was told the cost would be approximately $14,000—more than three times the quoted amount. This has been an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and other consumer protection agencies, and I encourage anyone who believes they have had a similar experience to report it to the BBB and their state consumer protection office.
