This is for valueaddedmovingdotcom I wish I could leave a photo on here of the extremely rude communication I received by text message when I asked for a quote via email instead of by phone. I strongly prefer text and email so I said I don’t want make a phone call and the reply was “then go somewhere else and spend more money.” They were my first choice for cross country movers, but this was an extremely rude first interaction and I’m so glad I did not hire them. Value Added Moving arrived and told me I owed them 7500.00 for a .ove they quoted 2400.00. 5100 more isnt even close to the original estimate. I do not feel they negotiated in goid faith. Bait and switch is against the law. And because it was an out of state move they are required to provide me with a government issued pamphlet. I never got it. And they will not return my deposit. I would not recommend anyone use this company. I am wondering how many times this has happened to others. How many people have been bilked out of half of the price quoted. I am going to go to the AG, BBB and Federal Transportation office and report this bogus estimate and keeping of the unsuspecting customers money. It is illegal. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

This was my first experience using a professional moving company, and unfortunately my experience with Value Added Moving was extremely disappointing. I initially received a written estimate of approximately $5,700 from the company's sales representative. To move forward with the reservation, I was required to pay a deposit of more than $2,000. Approximately two weeks later, after providing the dispatcher with a detailed inventory list of the items to be moved, I received a revised estimate of approximately $10,000. Although I believed the increase was disproportionate to the additional items included in the inventory, I accepted the revised estimate and paid a second deposit of more than $2,000, relying on the understanding that this represented the expected cost of the move. On the scheduled moving day, after the movers arrived, I was presented with a new estimate of approximately $22,000. By that time, the inventory list had actually been reduced in an effort to lower the previously quoted $10,000 estimate. As a result, I was unable to understand or reconcile the substantial increase to $22,000. I informed the company that I could not afford a move at that price and explained that, had I been provided with an estimate anywhere near $22,000 from the outset, I would never have entered into the agreement. Because of the unexpected increase, I had no choice but to cancel the move. Following the cancellation, I requested the return of my deposits, totaling more than $5,000. The company declined to refund those funds, resulting in a significant financial loss. Based on my experience, I believe the estimates provided throughout the process were inconsistent and did not accurately reflect the final amount demanded on the day of the move. The initial estimate was substantially lower than the final quoted price, and after the initial agreement I was unable to obtain meaningful assistance from the original sales representative despite repeated attempts to make contact. My concerns regarding the pricing discrepancies and refund request were not satisfactorily addressed.

I would give zero stars if possible. They hook you with a false quote. They try to triple it once they come and see your items even though you give them a detailed list and pictures of all items. They charged me extra to walk down the hall to get my items. Horrible communication. Then it took over two weeks for items to be delivered. Only one man showed up to move everything so I had to help him. I overheard him on the phone with someone when he didn’t realize I was on my way back to the moving truck to get more items and he said “I thought she was supposed to be alone” luckily, I had another person with me because I just had a bad feeling about everything from start to finish. Horrible horrible company. They completely take advantage of you and withhold your items hostage. Do NOT USE

Do not use this company. They are a bait-and-switch brokerage, not an actual moving company. Even though we did not choose them as our movers, they have repeatedly harassed us to the point that we have had to pursue legal action. One of their representatives even left my husband a voicemail threatening to choke him. I gave this review one star only because the system requires at least one star. If I had the option, I would give zero stars. Please take this warning seriously and avoid doing business with this company.

Value Added Moving deserves zero starts. They are a very dishonest and unprofessional moving broker, and my family just had an awful experience. Their website boasts "no hidden fees or surprises," as well as, "reliable moving companies." We found none of this to be true. After a virtual walk through with our agent, sharing the square footage of our home, number of bedrooms, and submitting an itemized list of our big home items (i.e., full transparency on our end), we were given a quote of around $7K for our cross country move from Ohio to Oregon. We questioned the cost and size of the moving truck, sending multiple texts asking about whether there were costs we should be prepared for. We were reassured numerous times that the cost would not change by thousands. When the moving company arrived they came in a medium-sized truck, way too small for our 5-bedroom home. They issued a new quote for $12K more than our original. When we called Value Added Moving in the moment they essentially said there was nothing they could do, so we were forced to eat the extra cost because we had to move that day. On the schedule day of delivery, we were told that we'd need to pay an additional $3K so that the moving company could rent a smaller truck to shuttle our items to our home because they couldn't fit the larger truck in our residential area, so now our costs was $15K over our original quote; again, for a company that boasts "no hidden fees or surprises." The moving companies that moved our home were certainly not reliable, not arriving at their scheduled times and showing up understaffed, so that move out and move in took over 14-16 hours. The delivery team did not even reassemble our furniture, which was part of the cost we had already paid for, so we ended up doing that ourselves. When I emailed Value Added Moving about our awful experience, they responded with a thinly veiled threat because of negative reviews I had left them online explaining the truth of our situation. Additionally, their customer service representative called me "dumb" and questioned my "reading comprehension skills" because according to them, "all of this was in our contract." Please avoid this company at all costs. If the deal sounds too good to be true, that is because it is. Value Added Moving feels like a big fraud that scams families out of their money. I would highly recommend that others who have fallen prey to their practices file a complaint on the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration website (fmcsa.dot.gov). I filed their 87th complaint this year today. When searching for Value Added Moving, their DOT number is 3488475 and they're registered as Moving Storage and Logistics Services Inc., likely because they don't want to be found.

Repeating what most other have said; this company is a scam. I was quoted an amount but told the drivers can subjectively charge you more. According so, I was going to be charged an additional $2000 for loading and unloading. This was after I sold several furniture items and down-sized my load. The customer service individuals are extremely rude and I was told it was "my fault" for changing my load even though I DECREASED it substantially.
