Really liked the fact that it is extremely light and durable, however the screw off lid is a little noisy when removing as if there may have been some high spots on the thread engagements, I will attempt to polish these down and see if it mends the screaching sound before hunt season, can't wait to try out the rest of the line of Valtcan products!

I recently used the VALTCAN Titanium Hot Tent Stove during a 21-day camping trip in the San Juan Islands, where it was my primary heat source in a KingCamp Mountain In C5 five-person hot tent, occupied by two people. The stove saw daily use in temperatures ranging from the mid-50s°F at night to the upper 70s°F during the day, including several rainy days and one day of heavy downpours. Overall, I was impressed with the stove’s heating performance. Assembly was straightforward thanks to the well-written instruction manual with clear color photos. Once assembled, the stove drafted very well and was easy to control using the damper and chimney adjustments. The titanium body heats up incredibly fast and quickly warmed our tent. The glass windows were also a great feature, making it easy to check whether there were still coals burning without opening the stove. We burned a variety of local woods, including alder, ash, pine, and Douglas fir. Most evenings I started the fire around 10:30 p.m., built up a solid bed of coals, and loaded larger pieces of wood before bed. Many nights there were still enough coals at 2 or 3 a.m. to restart the fire, and after adding more wood it would keep us warm until morning. The stove did require one chimney cleaning during the trip and another when packing up, which was simple and expected after extended use. The reason I can’t give it a higher rating comes down to durability and design details. After three weeks of regular use, nearly every panel of the stove had warped to some degree, especially the top and bottom. The side perforated air intake also warped from the heat, making it a little harder to adjust. The stove continued to perform well despite the warping, but it no longer felt as solid as when it was new. I think slightly thicker titanium would greatly improve the stove’s long-term durability. My other criticism is the carrying case. It holds most of the stove, but the chimney base/flue collar and spark arrestor do not fit inside and have to be packed separately. This seems like a missed opportunity, as it would have been easy to design the case to accommodate every component. Overall, I think the VALTCAN Titanium Hot Tent Stove is an excellent heater with great draft control and impressive real-world performance. However, the thin titanium construction and incomplete carrying case keep it from being a five-star product. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. I would recommend it to campers looking for a lightweight hot tent stove, but I hope VALTCAN addresses the durability and packing issues in future versions.
