Curate’s egg
The ball, when fully inflated, feels good, but Inflation is a problem. The pump provided is ridiculously inadequate. I used an electric tyre pump from my car. When the inner ball appears to be fully inflated, it is smaller than the case. You need to carry on pumping. It expands like a balloon and eventually fills the case completely and feels solid. Another inadequacy is that there is no valve, so as soon as you pull the pump out the ball begins to lose air. You need to be very quick to put the plug in. It is also quite difficult to place the air hole correctly when inflating. It needs to be about three quarters of the way up the slot from the base of the zip and you have to manipulate the outer cover before it is tight to make sure the air hole stays in the zip slot. However it feels more solid than the cheap one we previously bought and which got punctured after a short while. The dog gets to try it out tomorrow. Update: The dog got on well with it. However it began to deflate. After a few days I took the balloon out of the case, re inflated it, and put it in water to find the leak. There was a tiny pinhole, which I have blocked with boat repair compound. So far it appears to be holding, so I will try again tomorrow.
