I'm not very happy right now with Extra Space Storage. I loaded up my car and drove a half hour to begin storing. I had the card in my hand that gave my code, but it wouldn't work. I even waited until I saw another car exit and knew the gate was working and then tried again. Actually, I tried multiple times and I could not access, although I paid and signed my contract yesterday. Waste of several hours packing and a long drive.

There is nothing given for free don't be fooled I read before purchasing but some people walk in and get blind sided. There is some silly fee when first getting container plus you better get insurance or they will charge you without giving you time to get your proof of insurance which they did to me. In fact was told I will have to bring back proof to get my money back. Which i did but now they dont want to answer the phone for the past 2 days so I can get my funds back, which they tell me will take 20 days to return but they took the insurance that same second. Now just trying to get my insurance fee back seems to be the hardest thing in life to do.

The advertising special offer does not include a hidden cost of insurance and one time admin fee. As the website shows 9$ monthly with 1st month free. The real price is 144$ for 6 months rent. A waste of time and driving.

I saw this online only offer for a unit at a reduced rate so I reserved it. Reservation was quick & easy. Someone called right away to offer a viewing which I did. The site was clean and new looking. The problem was that "rate" online was misleading. You are required to BUY their insurance weather you need it or not. Nowhere on the site did it say this. This is classic bait & switch. My last storage place just needed proof of homeowners/renters insurance.

I had put in a reserve for a storage the same day went, when I arrived I was told my storage was D39 I paid my fee of 89 and some change. Then we went to and started unloading things and when we had a lot of our things out of the way they told us it was the wrong storage. We had to load everything back up again onto the truck moved storages to E43 and finished we went back to the office and had to finish the new paperwork and got charged again the 89$ because they had to void the previous payment. SO I had to pay 178$ that day until I received my refund within 2-3 business days. As a person who is moving into a new place, I needed all the money I could have for other things I needed to pay. Honestly I thought it would have been a smoother experience but it was just move problems than anything.

Very expensive place to rent from, they have hidden cost and want you to pay insurance on your stored items.

$1 move in special and once you get there to move in your out of $100 they make you buy all type of things you don't need ....

After going through the process of renting the unit for the special price that was advertised online and thinking I had a storage unit, I then received a call stating the until was not available. I was at work she the storage facility left me a message stating the until was not available but didn't even let me know if they had anything else available to rent. So needless to say, I had to rush out and find another storage unit at the last minute. Thanks guys, what a way to welcome someone to the neighborhood.
