This is a wonderful site that helps guide you (and more) through the bankruptcy process. It was through sheer luck that I heard about them. It was actually recommended to me by a bankruptcy lawyer. It walks you through the process step-by-step, guiding you through the process for whatever particular state you are considering filing bankruptcy in. Every bankruptcy case is different, mine was a simple chapter 7. Other bankruptcies might be more complicated depending on your assets and things like that, so if it's very involved, I would recommend hiring a lawyer. But even then, you can still use the website to "test-drive" your potential bankruptcy, and see what is the best fit for you.

I was very nervous when I started this experience, but Upsolved was the perfect site that guided me throughout my elderly mom's bankruptcy. Just follow all the steps and provide all documentation required.
