Update on my experience:
Update on my experience: After days of getting nowhere with Unplex customer support, the only response I kept receiving was a repeated claim that they had already remitted the funds and that I should simply "contact the bank." However, because they consistently refused to provide any transaction details or proof, my elderly parents had no choice but to make multiple exhausting trips to the bank within a single week just to verify if the money had arrived. Despite my constant calls and messages, Unplex stonewalled every attempt I made to get basic transfer information. After 10 days of getting nowhere, I consulted with my attorney and sent a final escalation email on October 1st. I demanded clear transaction details proving the money was remitted and informed them that if they failed to respond, I would immediately file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) along with all supporting evidence. Magically, they sent the transaction details that very same day. Upon inquiring with my bank in India using those details, I discovered Unplex had transferred the funds on September 24th (instead of the scheduled September 22nd). However, the bank had flagged and held the transaction because Unplex processed it as an RTGS local transfer instead of an international remittance which is completely unusual, as my remittances are typically handled via IMPS or NEFT. Once I provided the bank with the transaction details from Unplex, the bank was finally able to release and credit the funds on October 3rd. In this digital era, it is completely unacceptable that it took Unplex 10 days and a threat of regulatory action just to provide basic transaction details. Had they provided these details on September 24th when the transfer was made, my family back in India and I would not have had to go through such an emotionally exhausting and painful situation. The fact that they refused to release the details until threatened with the CFPB is deeply concerning. Please be extremely cautious when using their service. This was my first and last time using Unplex.

Hi Tarun, we’re glad the funds have reached your account, and we’re sorry for the stress this caused you and your parents. To clarify for anyone reading: the transfer was paid out on September 22. The bank reference number (UTR) was sent to you by email and WhatsApp that day as part of the transaction confirmation message, and it’s always available in your transaction history in chat with Unplex. When you contacted us, we shared it again, and on September 30 we sent the formal payment advice so your bank could trace the transfer. The funds were held at the receiving bank until they were released on October 3 once you and your father reached out to them. We know that wait was difficult and frustrating, and we’re reviewing with our payout partner why the bank held this transfer, so it doesn’t happen again. If there’s anything else we can do, please contact us at [email protected].
