Don't Use United Van Lines
United Van Lines’ handling of our interstate move through their Armstrong Relocation (Canton, MA) agent exposed serious failures in chain‑of‑custody, documentation, and damage accountability. Our belongings were packed onto one truck and delivered on a different truck, with an undisclosed truck‑to‑truck transfer and no transfer logs, no chain‑of‑custody records, and no warehouse intake documentation. Several items tendered at origin were never delivered, and inventory sheets contained mismatched tags — including Mayflower branding — despite United claiming no Mayflower involvement. United’s own evaluator documented $4,648.99 in mover‑caused damage. United/Armstrong attempted to pay less than half of that amount with no explanation. Full‑value protection was ineffective; the insurer issued boilerplate denials and ignored evidence. We hand‑delivered a detailed letter to Armstrong’s CEO outlining these issues, and it was never acknowledged. We completed every required step and provided full documentation, yet the core failures — the undisclosed truck transfer, missing items, and evaluator‑verified damage — were never meaningfully addressed. Consumers should be aware of these issues when considering United Van Lines for an interstate move.
