It was extremely easy to grab a domain name - for that I would have put 5 stars. However, immediately my inbox is filling up with spam and unwanted sales pitches - this is why I am sending 2 stars.

Thank you for your review. ICANN regulations require domain registrars to submit a domain's contact details to a public "Whois" database. This database can unfortunately be mined by third parties, leading to spam messages. We stress that any such third parties are absolutely not affiliated with United Domains.
We offer a Whois Privacy service, which I understand our team has reached out to you about setting up. Would you please get back to us as soon as possible? We'll be happy to help.

Lack of multiple admins
There isn't an option to specify additional accounts as administrators for a domain, which is a big security issue: Either take the risk and lose access eventually, or share your password and compromise it.

Hi Mert, thanks for your review. We actually do have a solution to allow multiple admins to access domain names. A member of our support team has reached out to you by email with more info. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Best regards,

Terrible systems. Terrible communication. Terrible customer service. Very disappointing.
I have around 10 domains registered with UD and have done for a few years. Never really had a problem up until just realising this week that a very important domain to my business expired February 3, 2017 with a dodgey looking plaint text email from UD that ended up in my junk, this is after receiving an email 15 December 2016 for said domain stating that "United Domains have successfully authorized your credit card for the items below (lists said domain)". Then 3 February 2017 email is to "inform you that -domain- has EXPIRED as of February 3rd". All I want to say is what the #### !?
I emailed support immediately after noticing something didn't seem right when some of my users weren't receiving emails and not being able to find it in my UD account. UD Support's first reply was to say they couldn't see the domain in my account - well duh ... hence why I was contacting you eh!?
After explaining the situation again in another reply, I get a response stating the domain "expired 21 December 2016" (impossible as it was working up until February and I received no notification of it pending expiration let alone actually expired until 3 February) - they then proceed to tell me it was in a "renewal period" for 44 days - hence the 3 February date, which has now passed and I was only advised of this the day of its passing (not in the lead up !?).
They then proceeded to say "Restoring costs a premium amount of $99.00". I replied that this was unacceptable, attached copies of the screenshots of emails mentioned above stating the obvious (that this is a big communication mistake on their part and that they should NOT advise customers that it has been successfully authorized if it technically hasn't been, let alone no further warning until its too late). Then I get this response: "Yes, we did an authorization to renew the domain on the 14th, but the renewal date is the 21st, and as you set the domain to no longer renew on the 15th, we did not charge your card. You're welcome to check with you bank to confirm that no charge occurred." At no time did I set this particular domain to not auto renew - let alone what is the point of "authorizing" my credit card and emailing if their system has it set to not auto-renew - it just doesn't make sense!
Explained this in my next reply and outlined how misleading their automated communication has been in regards to the first email stating my card has been successfully authorized - no mention of expiry 21st December - then domain remains working up until email that ended up in junk (3rd February) which now requires a $99 restoration fee.
I am absolutely dying with disappointment in how United Domains have handled this situation. I have been a proud supporter of them for at least the last 3-4 years, probably purchasing a good 20 or so names during that time and even recommending them to numerous people. Now to have experienced this absolutely disgraceful situation ... I'm just gobsmacked. Very very disappointing United Domains.
I have already begun transferring ALL of my domains out of UD, and will do everything in my power to get my domain name back at YOUR cost to restore it. I will happily pay the due renewal, but I'm not paying this "recovery" fee which is as a result of your terrible communication and actions. If this was my error where I genuinely missed a reasonable warning email of pending expiration or whatever I would happily wear this cost. But not only did I receive an email indicating the domain had been renewed (which was just not correct), I have also thoroughly scoured all of my emails from UD and have almost nothing on this particular domain. Other domains - plenty of repetitive spam, expiration notices etc, yet pretty much nothing on this one (and it's just a .com tld!). Very inconsistent service in general it seems. I am already going to be out of pocket for the huge loss of time and efficiency for my users not having email - now up to day 5! Not to mention the costs of Office 365 subscriptions linked to these accounts which are essentially useless right now. But the worst part? Many of my email users are job seekers looking for employment and now have no means of email contact for existing job applications. Please resolve this ASAP UD ... this is very poor form.
==UPDATE==
As per UD's response below and a much better email from them, UD have returned the domain, which is a huge relief, but unfortunately after the overall experience of this issue with UD support, I've already started the transfer away from them - purely to protect my operations in the future and hopefully never have a repeat of this.
It seems this bad review triggered them to finally deal with this matter properly and accept responsibility. I've lifted my rating from the original 1 star to 2 acknowledging their new found interest in helping me - I absolutely think there is still some work to be done in their first response support procedures though (ie not letting it escalate as quickly and badly as it did in my experience) and just instilling more appreciation / care to each and every problem a customer presents to them (after all, that is their job). A domain name could be an entire ecosystem to someone and I think in my case they were hung up on their black and white procedures of an ideal world where all their systems do the right thing, but they seem to had forgotten that systems don't always work the way they should - nothing or no one is perfect - but the important part is the customer aspect of their business, which on this occasion I think was the let down.
Thanks for eventually resolving UD, I have sent you my international phone number if you would like to discuss further, but in the interest of protecting my online presence in future, moving to a more reliable / established registrar hopefully won't cause me as much pain in the future.

Hello Harleigh, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to know you had this experience. The communication difficulties you described do not live up to the standards we set for ourselves, and we're committed to correcting this for you promptly.
While we have escalated the matter to the appropriate teams so we can investigate your ticket in greater detail, we have restored the lapsed domain name to your account and waived the restoration fee (so the only charge will be for the renewal, as you had previously ordered). We were unable to reach you by telephone, but if you would please leave your telephone number and a suitable time to reach you in your support ticket, one of our support specialists will be happy to follow up with you directly, as well.
Once again, we are sorry to know that you had this experience, and we hope this solution resolves this matter for you swiftly. We welcome you to contact us directly with any questions you may have in the meantime.

poorly designed web site
This web site is the worst designed compared to the other domain sites we use. Ridiculous renewal rates as well.
