Prior to writing this review I tried contacting the company several times without success. I had responded to their email advertisement offering live hosta plants with a bonus plant for ordering two. I doubled the order expecting two bonus plants and four regularly purchased plants. The order arrived minus any bonus plants and of the four purchased plants which were sealed in plastic bubble containers, one contained only peat moss and no plant; so my expected purchase of six plants was only three plants instead. These 3 plants were in satisfactory condition but I was unable to obtain an adjustment or answer on the missing three in my order.

So Disappointed 🥺 i’ve ordered from…
So Disappointed 🥺 i’ve ordered from tulip world in the past and most of my shipments have come in good quality. There’s always a few that are garbage but for the price I overlook it. Well this is different. I ordered three dinner plate. Dahlia’s and I received three little buds (they resemble fingerling potatoes)and anybody that grows dahlias knows that you need to have the nodes or the eyes in order for the flower to sprout n not only that they were a bit soft. As for the Phlox bare roots, one of them smelt like Decomp right away and the second one was missing they sent only one of the other flocks which I ordered too. bare roots that I ordered are doing absolutely horrible. One of them smelled like Decomp and I work in a plant nursery so I know what I’m talking about. In addition I really would like them to know that my sister passed. I wanted to build a garden in her honor, but I cannot put plants in there and then watch them die. It will kill me. I hope they see this and maybe they’ll get back to me bc I’ve been trying to call them I’ve been trying to leave emails anyway to contact them and I can’t, but if this situation isn’t rectified, then it’s too bad

Ordered 3 different varieties of…
Ordered 3 different varieties of ranunculus only 2 bags came up. About half of the 75 anemones bloomed and no tulips grew. Everything was planted in November as I am in zone 10a. Didn’t file a complaint with the company because I don’t want a credit. Will never buy from them again. I have successfully grown ranunculus and anemones for years in my climate. The anenome corms I received were the size of a dime. I have also grown tulip successfully keeping them in the fridge for 6 weeks before planting. I called Tulip World and was told they had already been through cold stratification and to plant right away which I did.

Hi Sheryl,
Thank you for your recent order and for taking the time to leave us a review. Zone 10 has too warm a climate to successfully grow tulips, as they need cold temperatures in order to produce a flower bud. Anemone and ranunculus can grow in zone 10 but are also a bit specific to the temperatures they require for success. The results you experienced were most likely related to the hardiness zone these items were planted in.

My online rder would not go through
My online rder would not go through, no matter how many times I tried. Their website says they have online chat. There is no online chat. So there was nobody to talk to about the problem.

B A D C O M P A N Y…
I ordered Tulip bulbs from a December advertisement. Little did I know that these bulbs would be delivered the first week in Jan. Now, I live in zone 5, and find it hard to believe a professional tulip company would send me bulbs in the middle of winter, and under their warranty I needed to plant them right away, and if fail take pictures. Well anyone knows in zone 5 that you plant tulips in Spring/Fall. I stored them in my garage and then when Spring arrived unwrapped them to find a green fungus/mold all over them. I called the company and they said, since I stored them and did not plant them right away they are not covered. She even said they were Spring planted bulbs.
Stay away from this company! I paid a lot of money and hardly anything is yet to come up. Pretty sad to say the least. I wil now address it with PayPal. I’m sure I can find rotten bulbs in the ground.

Poor customer and do not stand behind their guarantee
I spent hundreds of dollars on bulbs and roots from Tulip World, excited to start my new garden. I took all the right steps—using proper soil, compost, and fertilizer—but was extremely disappointed with the results. Nearly everything I purchased on sale was poor quality. The canna roots and gladiolus, in particular, were rotted, and not a single Cleopatra, Louis cotton, rosemond or other specialty canna sprouted.
I contacted customer service in June 2024, concerned about the condition of the roots, but planted them anyways to give it a chance. When nothing grew, I followed up this spring, expecting a refund based on my documentation, but they refused. Their 100% guarantee is completely bogus.
I want others to know—if you buy sale items from this company, don’t expect quality or customer support if your plants fail. I won’t be purchasing from them again.

Hi G,
Thank you for your recent order with our company and for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear that many of the items did not grow last year. Our guarantee, which is listed on our website, does state that we need to be informed by October of the year that these summer bulbs are planted if they don't grow. This is due to many summer bulbs not being winter hardy; therefore, we cannot guarantee their survival through winter in most climates. We are sorry to hear that many items didn't grow in your last order.
