Puppy Harbor sells coffee wood chews, a natural single-ingredient chew made from pruned, hand-sanded branches of Vietnamese coffee trees. Real wood that frays into safe fibers, cleans teeth while your dog chews, and actually lasts. We exist for dog parents who are done compromising between durable and safe. With Puppy Harbor, you don't have to choose.Every chew starts as a branch pruned from a working coffee farm in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, where farmers have given their dogs these same branches for generations. The wood is harvested during the dry season, hand-selected for quality, hand-sanded smooth, and naturally dried. Nothing is added. No flavoring, no chemicals, no synthetic binders. Just one ingredient. What makes coffee wood different is how it behaves under a dog's bite. Instead of breaking into hard shards or dissolving into mush, it frays slowly into soft natural wood fibers. Those fibers work like a toothbrush along the gum line, then pass safely through your dog's digestive system. Vets recommend chews that have some give to them. Coffee wood does.A single Puppy Harbor chew typically lasts weeks, not minutes. There is no smell. There is no mess beyond a little natural wood dust. And because it is a true byproduct of coffee farming, every chew is sustainable from the ground up.If your dog loves to chew, and you love your dog, this is the chew you have been looking for.

I bought three sticks for my dogs . In less than 1 day they had splintered and I took pictures took them away from my dogs and send a email with the pictures. They offered me a 30 percent refund !! Seriously my dogs had the sticks for less than a day, this is a con artist company and I will not be buying from them again! Disgusted that I wasted my money and o don’t feel there products are safe for dogs .

Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for writing this, and we're sorry, both for the chews and for how we handled your email.
We use coffee wood because it's dense and tends to wear down into soft fibers rather than sharp pieces, but occasionally some splintering can happen since it's a natural product.
Please email [email protected] with the subject line "Trustpilot Review Follow-Up" and we'll make it right for you.
Glad your dogs are okay.

Buyer Beware
Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. I never like to write bad reviews, especially if the company eventually takes care of me, but I would have not pushed like I did had I not read reviews of other people. I feel it's the right thing to do to share my experience. I fell for a sob story advertisement, and I should have trusted my gut. While the story mentioned that it wasn't an ad, the post was listed by Facebook as an ad. I went for it anyway after reading about the person's dog that had passed due to ingesting something from another bone/chew toy. The shipping on these bones took a while, but I was understanding about it. Once they arrived, they were extremely small. I realized at that point that something was up with this company. I searched Puppy Harbor and found bad reviews by 27% of the reviewing audience. They stated that the bones splintered and that it was extremely difficult to get a refund. I was torn on what to believe, but even if I trusted that these bones may LOOK like they're splintering but they're breaking down like they should, I was disappointed in the size for what I paid. I went to the website and noticed that the image did not change when I selected a different size. Not ONE dog on the entire website appeared to be chewing the small bone. They were all a decent size or BIG. It is very misleading. According to their return/refund policy, the chews must be unopened/not used/not damaged. Rather than taking a chance with splintering or even having a bone that cost at least $13 (because of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal) gone in 3hrs like other customers claimed, I decided I wanted to send them back for a refund. The customer service response was very quick and reassured me that the bones do not splinter and to just try them. I responded again stating I appreciate the reassurance, but I did not want to take any chances. The next response was not as quick. When I followed up, they told me their return facility was permanently closed, and they could not accept the items back. They again told me to try the bones. I told them I did not try the bones initially because THEIR policy says the bones must be unopened. And while they gave me permission to do so, they also tried to say I couldn't return them due to THEIR facility being closed. I told them this was not my problem, and they needed to abide by THEIR policy. They wrote back offering me a 40% refund and to keep the items. I was not happy, and again explained my feelings. They wrote back again saying their "final offer" was a 60% refund. I told them I would proceed with filing a fraud claim with my bank then because THEIR policy is very clearly written on their website along with a big "sticker" that says "30 Days Money-Back Guarantee." They finally said that they would issue a full refund, and that there was no fraud. I explained that charging me for an item that has a clear refund/return policy and not abiding by it and keeping my money is a form of fraud. In the end, I did get my refund, but I was not happy at all with the entire process. - Since I still could not send the bones back, I did go ahead and give my dog a bone and watched her closely. They do appear to splinter, but I believe the catch is the type of "wood." Apparently, it is not supposed to harm the dog. My dog was fine, but I do not plan to give her the other two as it still did not seem like material I wanted going down her throat or into her stomach. Also, she is a 7mo old Golden Retriever and the small bone was gone in about an hour.

Hi Jes,
Thank you for taking the time to write all this. You were right about the policy, our closed return facility shouldn't have been your problem, and we issued the full refund because of that.
We've since changed how our team handles refund requests so they're approved on the first email rather than after several. Your point about the size images is fair and we're updating them.
We use coffee wood because it's dense and tends to wear down into soft fibers rather than sharp pieces, but occasionally some splintering can happen since it's a natural product.
We'd genuinely appreciate you revisiting your rating if you feel the outcome warrants it, but either way, thank you for the detail, it's changed how we do things.

DONT DO IT
DONT DO IT!
Upon receiving my order I did inspect the chew and it seemed pretty good. I gave it to my corgi to chew and would take it away after 10 minutes just to get her used to it. I did that for 3 days and on the 3rd day it got a split on both sides of the chew. It wasn’t super deep but enough that I felt it might not be safe anymore. I was very upset because I had spent 30 dollars on a little stick that they said should hold up for several weeks. 3 days 30 minutes in total time of chewing. I reached out to the company who made me feel like it was my fault because I should have sized up on the chew even though it doesn’t say that when you go to buy the product. I tried to email them and it went back and forth until all the sudden they stopped replying. I gave up and counted it as a loss and have found a better company to buy from. If anyone wants a better place to get them try Mumbies. They are super fast with shipping unlike puppyharbor where you’re waiting 2 weeks.

Hi Liberty,
We're really sorry to hear about your experience, and we sincerely apologize for how your support case was handled.
If you visit our website, we do have several sections to help you find the right size for your dog, and we always recommend sizing up if you have a heavy chewer. However, some of our initial batches did have issues with the wood quality, and it sounds like you may have received one of them. We'll happily send you a replacement from our current stock, as our 30-day guarantee stands exactly as written on our site.
Please reach out to us directly at [email protected] with the subject line "Trustpilot Review Follow-Up" so we can prioritize your case and resolve everything properly for you.

Long wait and big disappointment
EDIT: Thanks to Puppy Harbor for reaching out, I will give the coffee chew another try like they offered and hope it works out well!
It took almost 3 weeks to get the coffee wood chew. I picked the largest size available for my large German Shepherd and it definitely cracked and splintered. Very large sharp chunks that could slay a vampire. Maybe my dog is too hard of a chewer, but they make it sound like these work regardless. Wasted time and money and would not recommend.

Hi Tiera,
We're really sorry to hear about your experience, both with the wait for your order and with how the chew held up. Large sharp pieces are exactly what our chews are designed to avoid, and you clearly did everything right by choosing the largest size for your German Shepherd.

30 day refund lie
The "30 day refund, no return necessary" guarantee that is mentioned more than once on their site is, in fact, false. I was unhappy with the way that my dog's chew was splintering and cracking dangerously - and yes, I purchased the correct size for the size of my dog - and I reached out to the customer service contact to express this. I was offered a 20% refund and told that they were unable to process any returns or refunds beyond that amount at this time. The product I received did not match the quality that was guaranteed on their website and when I attempted to get my money back, I was unsuccessful. Direct quotes from their website include:
"Not happy with your purchase? No worries, we've got you covered! You may return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange, no questions asked."
"The answers are why we offer a 30-day refund — no return required."
Despite these quotes, they do not have follow through.

product is dangerous
this coffee chew does splinter into sharp ,pointed splinters ! I have purchased coffee chews in the past and yes they do break down into fibrous small pieces that are completely digestible by your dogs, these are NOT ! I contacted customer service sent pictures of their product and the answer I received was "I should have bought a bigger size" They do NOT honor their guarantee, Buyers Beware for your pups ! I want to add I did contact them repeatedly, and they did talk to mefor a while then chose to ignore me. My bank is handling this matter now!

We are sorry your experience with our product was not a positive one. We do want to address this publicly so other customers have the full picture.
We state clearly on our website that purchasing the wrong size for your dog's weight can lead to splintering. Giving a Medium chew to a dog that requires an XL will cause breakage, just as it would with any other product. Sizing is not a fine print issue for us, it is a safety instruction we stand behind.
As we honor our 30-day guarantee, please email us and we will be in touch to make it right for you.
