The itinerary and everything the trip includes will be clearly listed on the trip page before booking.Once Travelers book, they’ll hear next steps and any preparation info they need to know going into their trip. Typically, Travelers and Hosts will be connected in a shared chat in advance of the trip so everyone can get to know each other and get excited. Do not host a Trova trip if you care about your community

I was the host on a recent Trova trip and I had an appalling experience. We discovered later, after the trip was fully booked up, that the trip is actually implemented by a third party who you have no communication or influence over. Problems included failing to book our group into the same hotel, so splitting the group in two and failing to book enough rooms up to 24 hours before arrival. The itinerary was riddled with poor timing issues and our guide had to rearrange it daily. He was not an expert on the area, which he was happy to confess to so had no local knowledge to impart. Overall it was a hugely stressful experience as a host. However because as a host we worked so hard behind the scenes and Italy is a gift of a destination our group enjoyed their experience, but no thanks to the trip organisers. If you care about your guests, the trusted community you have built up and your reputation, I'd steer well clear of this company. A big shame as its a great concept.

Hi Sophie, we wanted to thank you first and foremost for sharing your honest feedback here. We know that in travel (like in life) things don't always go according to plan, and we at Trova want to own where we miss the mark, and commit to improve where we can. As you know from conversations prior to the trip, the large number of Travelers who requested a "single supplement" (the request to pay more for a solo room instead of sharing a room with a fellow Traveler) was higher than the average group trip. This meant that to ensure that everyone who wanted their own room had their own space, our Trip Operators had to split the group into 2 hotels (something we try to avoid for the reasons you've noted). We apologize for the frustration this caused you and your Travelers. We also know that a Guide is critical to the experience, and immediately followed up based on your feedback to ensure our Trip Operators are aware, and to help us secure the best possible Guides for our trips.
